When to choose the approach while in the air?
I would really recommend people use LiveATC + Flightradar24 to track a flight, especially in the terminal area. You'll hear when pilots get informed of the runway in use (cause even if they know the winds, the airport might have more than one runway on that direction, some landing, some departing). You'll also hear how sometimes they ask for the approach they wanted and get it, or sometimes, get turned down. Also, you'll really understand what the vectors portion of a STAR is all about. It's a real eye opener.

Getting the 777 just made me love the NGX more
To me, the NGX is like Al Bundy's ol' Dodge. There's nothing else like it. It may not have outdated technology (both the real life kind, and the FSX kind), it may not have the range, or the automation of the triple 7, but you know every quirk of it, you learned to sit in the chair in such a way that that lump in your back isn't so annoying anymore. It just fits like a glove. I didn't buy the triple 7. I am still considering it, but i don't think i'll buy it any time soon. I just like short flights more, and my computer doesn't have stellar specs, and from looking at videos of other people, while impressive, the triple 7 cockpit looks so... well... it's not quaint enough for me

NGX and the Operations Center
Ah, so when that happens, we will be able to use it for our NGX too. Thanks for the answer, Kyle!

NGX and the Operations Center
I just hope this doesn't start some sort of flame war... So i haven't had much time lately to look over all the new info related to the release of the 777 SP1, but i did notice in the thread started by Ryan that he says: Is the OC available to people who don't have the 777? If so, where do i get it? If it isn't available, will it? Or we'll have to wait for SP2 for the NGX? Thanks. Edit: I got an error while posting this. Glad i refreshed the page so i didn't post this a gazillion times mwahahaha!

Recommended must do NGX flights 1-3hrs Add on Scenery
You could try vRoute. It suggests routes, scenery and charts.

Very dim landing light illumination !
Does having those files also fix that problem with the lights reverting back to the original FSX ones when visibility is under 10sm?

HOTAS/yoke and pedals for all my PMDG aircraft
I have the x52 from Saitek and i'm probably the only person on the planet to have it programmed via Saitek's software. That also means i have 3 times more buttons than everyone else. Never had an issue. I do have one complaint regarding Saitek joysticks. They're all made for right hand on stick, so using a mouse and flying is really hard. And i know it has a little mouse joystick, but that's just as hard to use. I was thinking about getting a yoke, but i don't think i could live without all the buttons.

Trying to solve my NGX night lighting issue
There's a bug (i think FSX related) that will revert the lights to default FSX lights if visibility is anything under unlimited.

Anybody have a update on Robert ?
People are really studying about PMDG? Wow... that's amazing.

Modifying STAR
i think it would help if you share the code of the STAR you're working on. If it's from navigraph, i'm not sure if they'd like that, though...

Less FPS in full screen?
Maybe you installed the limiter that Ryan recommended in the post about tweaking FSX and just forgot about it?

Modifying STAR
Where are you looking to see if the fix is in the correct location?

PMDG NGX very strange behaviour on departure
The throttle problem i get very rarely too. The engines sound like they're starting up, but then the sound goes away, and yet the indications still point to a normal start. I have no idea what causes it, cause it happens really rarely for me, but it does seem to be related to changing to an outside view while the engines start. I seem to recall doing that last time i got that problem, like you did in the video.

Anybody have a update on Robert ?
Because it's what the "waiting trolls" wanted. Everyone wanted that PMDG offer more info on the SP1, and they did. Now you're complaining that they offered more info... Also, if you're looking for a 777, why in the world would you get a Dash 8? Also, please sign your posts with your full name, as per the forum rules.

How close to realism
I might be wrong but I think the flashing AT light is just saying "I have the throttles all the way down and we're still going too fast. Do something." So that is the AT complaining. Then you have the message in the CDU which is VNAV complaining that the profile's to steep.

The 737 MAX Flight Deck
Reminds me of this video with all the quirks of an MD80: And since you mentioned light switches, here's some on the 757: Some planes really seem to have random switch placement...

Cold weather altimeter correction
I'm starting to wonder how much realism is too much realism...

Stutters - once and for all
I used to have a problem very similar to that cause by the hard disk interface on my motherboard. If you check the error log in windows and you see a bunch of ATAPI errors, switch the cable from you HDD to another slot in the motherboard.

How close to realism
Leaving all the real world things ACARS does, it would be really cool to have an ACARS interface implemented in the NGX to show data received via the SDK from a VA's program. I don't actually expect such a feature to ever be implemented on the NGX (maybe future projects, who knows), but it would be really immersive and cool.

Cat I, II, III decision making for a newb!
Yeah, Matt reminded me a bit earlier about that. Was mostly thinking about CAT IIIb in any case.
