  1. I have the x52 from Saitek and i'm probably the only person on the planet to have it programmed via Saitek's software. That also means i have 3 times more buttons than everyone else. Never had an issue. I do have one complaint regarding Saitek joysticks. They're all made for right hand on stick, so using a mouse and flying is really hard. And i know it has a little mouse joystick, but that's just as hard to use. I was thinking about getting a yoke, but i don't think i could live without all the buttons.
  2. There's a bug (i think FSX related) that will revert the lights to default FSX lights if visibility is anything under unlimited.
  3. People are really studying about PMDG? Wow... that's amazing.
  4. i think it would help if you share the code of the STAR you're working on. If it's from navigraph, i'm not sure if they'd like that, though...
  5. Maybe you installed the limiter that Ryan recommended in the post about tweaking FSX and just forgot about it?
  6. Where are you looking to see if the fix is in the correct location?
  7. Interior cockpit design, feng shui style, with Kyle Rodgers. Coming soon on the family channel.
  8. The throttle problem i get very rarely too. The engines sound like they're starting up, but then the sound goes away, and yet the indications still point to a normal start. I have no idea what causes it, cause it happens really rarely for me, but it does seem to be related to changing to an outside view while the engines start. I seem to recall doing that last time i got that problem, like you did in the video.
  9. Because it's what the "waiting trolls" wanted. Everyone wanted that PMDG offer more info on the SP1, and they did. Now you're complaining that they offered more info... Also, if you're looking for a 777, why in the world would you get a Dash 8? Also, please sign your posts with your full name, as per the forum rules.
  10. I might be wrong but I think the flashing AT light is just saying "I have the throttles all the way down and we're still going too fast. Do something." So that is the AT complaining. Then you have the message in the CDU which is VNAV complaining that the profile's to steep.
  11. Reminds me of this video with all the quirks of an MD80: And since you mentioned light switches, here's some on the 757: Some planes really seem to have random switch placement...
  12. I'm starting to wonder how much realism is too much realism...
  13. I used to have a problem very similar to that cause by the hard disk interface on my motherboard. If you check the error log in windows and you see a bunch of ATAPI errors, switch the cable from you HDD to another slot in the motherboard.
  14. Leaving all the real world things ACARS does, it would be really cool to have an ACARS interface implemented in the NGX to show data received via the SDK from a VA's program. I don't actually expect such a feature to ever be implemented on the NGX (maybe future projects, who knows), but it would be really immersive and cool.
  15. Yeah, Matt reminded me a bit earlier about that. Was mostly thinking about CAT IIIb in any case.
  16. Sounds weird to have the fuel cutoff switches mapped to hardware buttons... seems like a waste of buttons. I just click them in the VC. But whatever floats your boat. I think it's unlikely that there is a double command assignment. The CDU menu in the NGX doesn't allow them. So i think it might have to do with the way FSUIPC handles the command. What happens if you input the command with the keyboard? What happens if you do the same assignment on the same button using Saitek's software instead of FSUIPC? Like i said it before, i have the reversers mapped to the slider on my x52 using Saitek's software. Top 3rd is clear, middle 3rd sends F1, and bottom 3rd sends F2. Works without a problem.
  17. My toy is not as shiny as the other toys so you betcha i'll be moaning! Whaaaa!!!
  18. Then the problem is your VA software. Maybe you should be posting this in their forum, not PMDG's :P
  19. Guys, stop counting RSR's rivets...
  20. If bu that you mean the winds uplink that the 777 has, then yes, i think it will most likely be implemented. But keep in mind that ASN isn't connecting to any ACARS. It just puts data in a file that the 777 can read. There are other programs that can do that (PFPX being another example). Also, please sign your posts with your full name.
  21. Well.. P3D licensing doesn't require a dev team, right? But i do hope they start work on the NGX SP2 before or at least at the same time as the 747v2. I don't want to wait 2-3 years for a weather radar... :Worried:
  22. We need hi-def rivets! People are having too hard a time counting them.
  23. I doubt there's anyone working on the NGX SP2 right now. They're trying to roll out the T7 SP1, and they have a team working on the DC6 as far as i know. The earliest we can expect work to start on SP2 is after the T7 SP1 is released.
  24. Moral of the story: PMDG should stop modeling rivets on their aircraft so there will be no rivets to count.
