Juneau to Petersburg or what?

Featured Replies

Hi Steffan and all, Thought you might like to share my flight today from Juneau to Petersburg AK in the ol' PMDG 737-700 Alaska Airlines w/ stairs. METAR at PAPG at 231356Z was 09015G27KT 7SM BKN031 OVC039 10/07 A2884 Scenery is Glacier Bay and probably Misty Fjords. Juneau and Petersburg sceneries are something to do with Holger Sandmann I think - excellent and mostly freeware or part of regional scenery. Also REX for FS9 w/ plus an old added overcast water texture from FE (remember that?), UT Can/AK, Samoshin Trees, knobs knockers bells and whistles. Shame you couldn't hear my CFM 56 sounds - they were a free download from AVSIM (Patrick Cramer's perhaps). They blast the old PMDG and iFly sounds out of the water. Plus A2A Shockwave lights. Note the stomach wrenching procedural left then right turn out of PAJN RWY 08 180 degs towards SSR VOR, then turn left at FL 210 124 degs for an approach I designed myself, I couldn't find any published procedures for PAPG 04. Have it in FSNav and FS2004 format if anyone wants it. Ignoring FS2004 ATC:- PAJN RWY08 - SSR - Airway V317 - until approx 22NM from 306 radial from LVD (116.3) or a couple of NM north of TURKS waypoint having descended to 4000ft first.- Turn HDG 056 cross Towers Arm from Kupreanof Island. Descend to 3000ft on eastern side (you should see the valley if it isn't too foggy).- Descend to 2000ft - should see PAPI for RWY04 but you will need to fly final approach manually making a slight right dogleg to align with the runway just a few hundred meters from touchdown.Enjoy! Regards, Ray

Great shots! Al

Wow! the old NG. Still looks great. Nice set of shots and a great approach I will have to try that some time.
