January 19, 200422 yr Fellow pilots, I,m in the process of purchasing the PMDG 737NG which I understand to be the ultimate 737NG!(I believe thats a given)! But my question is concerning the 767 line! QUESTION= Which 767(any model)is more realistic, IFDG,s or Poskys? No question IMO they are both first rate reproductions, but the thing I notice is that the IFDG fuselage is "rounder" while the Posky fuselage is more "oval"! Thats quite noticeable! Which is CORRECT? Also what about flight dynamics, gear, etc.??? Please do not consider PIC,s 767 which is (as you all know) not compatible with FS9 until PICV2 is released! Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks, Jukebox "SOMEDAY I WILL FLY IN A REAL B-17"

January 19, 200422 yr It all depends. IFDG's wings are too low on the fuse, engines are too far in, and I've heard it has a few animation issues (even though I think they fixed those issues). POSky is a great model if you don't care for opening doors. I personally prefer POSky, even though it's a bit outdated.Daniel P.
January 19, 200422 yr Oh, I thought he was referring to the flight dynamics not the eye-candy. My bad.
January 19, 200422 yr I just went through all that. I had the iFDG one, and it was great. After I reinstalled FS9 (still can't believe that I talk like this) I was looking to start over, so installed both, and flew both for a while. They're quite similar, but I eneded up going with Posky because of the ease of getting repaints. I would recommend Posky with a good freeware cockpit and sound package and you will rock....billg
January 20, 200422 yr Hi,Just thought I'd drop a few lines in here about something I just found after reading this thread. I went looking for sound sets for the 767 after reading here as I just installed a iFDG and a Posky 767 the other day. In the www.allnodesbusy.com library I found a big one (777sndu1.zip), 26 MB by Mark Governali. Then I went to 'Newest files' and saw this just released today...FS2004 Sunny 767 V3 Full Models Package - This Boeing 767 model features 15 Gmax models with accurate feature; all Boeing 767 serials included; three types of engines, PW, RR, CF; all moving parts; transparent cabin windows; virtual cockpit for whole model, paint kit. By Sunny Xia. Size: 33 MB (sunny767.zip)And there's a Zoom livery repaint for it too by Shane Strong (zom767ge.zip).I downloaded 'em and just thought I'd let you folks know in case your wanting to check out yet another 767 model.Cheers,Jim
January 20, 200422 yr Thanks guys, I have to say it sounds like they both have faults and merits! I guess it kind of boils down to "apples or oranges" in the end! I really like them both BUT I kind of swing toward the IFDG model(like the rounder body AND the flight dynamics)!I guess I will use them both because each is a top notch quality "keeper"! Again, THANKS for your feedback! Fly safe! Rick Bruce Jukebox "SOMEDAY I WILL FLY IN A REAL B-17":-)
January 20, 200422 yr Best to make your own mind up. :) Its what you like at the end of the day.In regards to the POSKY FDE I quote from a real 767 Pilot."The 767 FDE's provided by Posky, in conjunction with the 767 V2 and 767PIC is good enough for me to use to prepare for my simulator exercises on a REAL 767 simulator.I'd be happy to endorse Posky's product from my position as a Boeing 767 pilot." January 20, 200422 yr You have to remember the REAL 767 has a double-lobe fuselage design, it is NOT like the 777, which has a perfect-circle design! Anyway, the POSKY has a better exterior, but the IFDG has better dynamics in my opinion. Like it was stated said, it is best to make up you own mind, its apples and oranges. However, the best one will probably be the FSPAP 767, which is from the original Posky 767 designer.
January 20, 200422 yr In terms of visual looks, I'll have to vote for this new Sunny B767 V3 model. It has just outstanding looking wings and dynamic shine. However its so new that I have only seen 3 Air Canada repaints and 1 Zoom paint (as well as couple of Chinese repaints from AI China website). My second favorite would be iFDG's though, and I do believe there is quite a decent amount of repaints available for this one here at the library :)
January 20, 200422 yr CargoMun,Good to hear you liked the Sunny V3 model. One reason I downloaded it was because it said it has a virtual cockpit. But after opening up the 'panel.cfg' files within WinZip I noticed there are cfg entries for the VC(unless I missed something). So I didn't install it. I was wondering if anyone happens to know if you can not only display and place gauges in a 2D panel with FS Panel Studio, but will it also display and allow you to place gauges in a VC?Jim
January 20, 200422 yr This has to be done during the creation of the model itself (the creation of model surfaces for gauges to be placed on).
January 20, 200422 yr Dear Albaro Villegas and All,In my above comment I meant to say..I noticed there are 'no' cfg entries for the VC.Now, I know the VC is made in the model of the aircraft and cannot be changed, unless you have the orginal source of course. But I believe this is just the VC bitmap. Now, unless I am somehow mistaken, the gauges in the VC(what gauges are used, where they are placed, and thier size) are defined in the panel.cfg file of an aircraft. I am almost certain I am not mistaken here because I have edited the VC section of a panel.cfg file before to get it to display the RealityXP 530 GPS in the aircrafts VC instead of displaying the default GPS 295.So, if Sunny's 767 has a VC then there must be a way to place some gauges in it and thereby come up with the proper VC entries for it in the panel.cfg.Again, I have not installed this plane and checked it out, I have only downloaded it. And as I write this I JUST NOW realized something. Those panel.cfg files are all aliases to the default MS 777 aircraft panel. So maybe his bitmap is different than the default 777 but gauges are placed in his VC by the default's 777 panel.cfg file. Perhaps I will go ahead and install Sunny's 767 and check this out.Regards,Jim
January 20, 200422 yr Hello Albaro Villegas,Arrrgh! Well, I guess you know better than me. :-doh I tried it out Sunny's 767 and thought that because there are VC entries in the default 777's panel(which is the panel Sunny's is aliased to) that I would see some gauges in it. But nope! Nothing other than his bitmap.Would anyone want to try and elaborate, elucidate, and/or enlighten me on this with just a little bit more detail, hehe.Cheers,Jim
