So I finally bought a yoke, rudder pedals, and a spare throttle quadrant, all Saitek. The yoke and rudders work great, I'm having some issues with the throttle however. I opened all the boxes earlier today, I literally just got them. When I first plugged everything in and had the throttles all the way down (at 0 not in the negative) my jet engines on screen would be at 0%. And when I put them all the way up, the on screen throttle read 100%. But now when they are all the way down it says they are at 22%, and all the way up is only 83%. Does anyone know what's going on? Did I program it wrong or something? Using FSX in Windows 7 64-bit if that helps. That's the first 'issue'. After that I just need to know how I can set the rudders to toe brakes, when I did it before it applied the brakes constantly, even if I never touched the peddles, obviously I'd like it to be only when I push down. Lastly is reverse thrusters. I can't figure out how to map the reverse thrusters onto my throttle quadrants. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Ideally you should use FSUIPC for your axis assignments. This document shows how to program reversers for CH Throttle Quadrant (and Saitek throttles will be similar). As far as your toe brakes are concerned. sounds like the axis need to be reversed. Cheers, - jahman.

Looks like I have to purchase this. There are two prices , one with VAT and one without. What exactly is VAT? Also I don't have a Controls option on my Options dropdown, as in the first picture in that link.

Hi VAT stands for value added tax. I must admit that I don't know when it is applicable or not. It may depend on your country. Try witout VAT and see what it gives... I guess you installed the saitek drivers. Personnally, I don't trust the saitek stuff. I did not bother to install them because I already had FSUIPC FSUIPC is a fantastic piece of software. it is a bit pricey but it is so useful that you won't regret it. It is daunting when you first use it but with the guide by john cook you will get by with it.It is very important to disable all FSX assignements in the FSX control option menu for the hardware that you want to control with FSUIPC. Keep the pan wiew switch in FSX though. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask for help. This is a friendly place.

...What exactly is VAT? ...
VAT is the EC - European Common Market sales tax. If you're outside the EC it does not apply. Cheers, - jahman.

Okay so I want to say again that I had (at least the throttle) working great intiially. It went from 0 to 100%, now it goes from about 20 to 80%. It's possible this happened after I put in the disc that came with the products. How can I go about completely wiping out any and all drivers the disc may have had on my PC, and make my computer forget I ever put the disc in?

Your alternatives are:

  1. Try going to your Contro Panel and "Add/Remove Programs" and see if whatever it is you instaled shows up on the list of installed software so you can uninstall it.
  2. go to the directory where that software was installed and see if there is als an "uninstall.exe" program.
  3. Look in that software's install and data directories and see if that software saved the pre-install version of your fsx.cfg file.
  4. Look in the directory where fsx.cfg resides and perhaps your software saved a backup of that file right there, or perhaps there is an earlier version saved by another program/add-on you might have installed earlier.

It might be too late now, but it's a good idea to always save your configuration files when your FSX installation is running just as you want it to. Cheers, - jahman.

I use FSUIPC full version and I don't have any problems with the throttles, also using FSUIPC you can set the toe brakes to reverse the polarity of the pots which stops the problem you're having with them constantly being on, I don't know off the top of my head if you can reverse them directly in FSX. Get FSUIPC full version with WideFS, you can then use a second PC to control any Saitek Panels except the BIP and I run third party addons like guages etc on the second PC which reduces the load off the main FSX PC. I moved all my Panels to a second PC and FSX performance improved significantly. Cheers Martin
