  1. Hi Appliance I think I was using full screen, I can't check right now cus I've just moved home and haven't got my system up and running again yet. I'm pretty sure though I was using full screen, maybe I'll delete the config file and let FS9 create a fresh one with the eyefinity already setup, I'll post again soon when I've got it back online and see what happens. Thanks for replying, I'll be back. )
  2. I'm setting up a triple screen for my scenery. FSX works really well through eyefinity but FS9 is slow and stutters, is there any config settings for FS9 that are specific to using multi monitor setups, especially where eyefinity is used. Cheers Mart.
  3. Downloaded it, flew the runway 18 approach with a cessna and the trimotor, got both through first attempt although it was close and scary at times, love it. This is a great idea and real fun to fly, nice work guys. Cheers Martin
  4. If you haven't got it already add REX to FS9, it makes such a difference with the look especially at sun rise and sun set. Also there's vancouver airport that is available, I can't remember the author but it is an excellent airport and well worth installing. Cheers Martin. PS. I'll see if I can find the link for the Airport. Found it. http://www.jgabbert.com/sceneries.html
  5. NaMcO, if I had your PC I would use FSX more too but alas my kit ain't in the same league so FS9 and X-Plane are the better option for me, I'm a bit jealous but thumbs up to ya, we all just need to fly what works for each of us. Happy Flying. Cheers Martin. :yahoo:
  6. I use FSX/FS9 X-Plane 9.7 / X-Plane 10 Demo, out of all these I mainly use FS9 & X-Plane 9 and that's because they both run smooth on my system and make the feeling of flight far more realistic than I can achieve with FSX or X-Plane 10, by time I've reduced the settings of both X version enough to get smooth flight they both look worse than the 9 versions which kinda defeats th object somewhat, so for me the 9's win hands down with my current system and until I can afford a top notch PC that's the way it'll stay. I do use FSX now and then cus I have A2A's spit which I love so having to lower everything to fly that baby is worth it. FS9 & REX looks great BTW, flew out of Seattle at dawn the other day and the sky was gorgeous. Cheers Martin. :Money Eyes:
  7. Downloaded Flight last night and once I got past the initial startup and training flight I finally managed to get to the menu where by you can choose your plane etc.First thoughts, I don't like the annoying womans voice in the missions but maybe I'll get used to it, I managed to get to Free Flight mode using the Icon A5 I was very impressed, very nice to fly and seemed quite smooth on high settings for everything, so then I decided to try the Boeing Stearman which I needed to sign into my live account to do.OK, I'm signed in and load up the Stearman and now I'm just getting loads of stutters, no smooth flight, this is what annoys me with the Windows environment, it's all the background junk that goes on that just ruins the game.It was late last night so I'll give it another go tonight, maybe my computer was just doing a pile of background processes cus of the new install so maybe that will settle and things will get smooth again.I love the water effects on the sea, looked really good flying low while banking around.I couldn't set up my Saitek Trim wheel as the trim seems to be assigned to buttons only which sense the same button regardless of which way I turned the trim wheel, it would be nice to see that sorted out as an Axis instead. My Flight yoke set up OK, only 1 Throttle Quadrant was visible and my Leo Bodnar interface didn't show up at all.Overall I think Flight could certainly have a bright future if the developers build in enough realism for the hardcore simmers but also keep enough simplicity for the casual gamers.Anyway, just my initial thoughts, maybe more to come later.CheersMartin
  8. Watched it and it was very interesting, some amazing old aircraft and people. Really liked the big passenger biplanes they looked like flying buses. lolThanks Andy, I'm glad I watched it.CheersMartin.
  9. Thanks for the heads up Andy, I must try and see this tonight but as I don't watch a lot of telivision hopefully I wont forget it's on. :huh:CheersMartin.
  10. Did you buy the full version of FSUIPC along with WidesFS server?Do you have a laptop or second pc you could network with the main FS PC?If yes to both of the above you could run the checklist on the laptop or second pc connecting through widefs. If no to either of the above you may be able to tell FS9 to be always on top but this would need to run in windowed mode and you'd need a second monitor to display the checklist program. That way when you click the checklist the focus should I think jump straight back to FS9.There may be other optons but I'm not sure right now and I don't know the program you're using.I'll see what I can find out.CheersMartin
  11. I would think that because you're using a stand alone program, when you click on it you are taking the focus away from FS9 so that may be why the sound stops, if you click back into the FS9 window does the sound come back on?CheersMartin
  12. Thanks Ian & RaindanceI'll be taking a look at those suggestions this weekend hopefully, looking forward to giving them all a try.CheersMartin
  13. Yes Gliding around Switzerland with others would be good fun, ideal place for it really. Maybe we should suggest this to them.CheersMartin
  14. Considering this is the first release of this simulator it's very very good, yes there is a lot missing and I for one would like to see those things adding to it in future releases but it is well worth having even if only for the Glider as you can really get the feeling of gliding and when I zoom out using any aircraft the sense of speed is great fun. It's a promising start and would be well worth keeping an eye on and in the mean time we still have FS9, FSX and X-Plane amongst others.I have purchased it by the way and I am happy with my purchase, no regrets as it does have a place in my flying requirement.CheersMartin
  15. jtmedinaLike I said I can understand the thinking behind the Arcadish comment, take a look when flying the jet, external view from the rear reminds of a very early arcade fighter game, can't remember the name of it but the look is there, only slightly mind but it is there,There are elements of it that would give the Arcade feel but they are very minor and overall you'll notice I am very pro aerofly and would really like to see it developed further but it's got a long road ahead of it like I said.I agree with you about the Glider, I had a really good flight and landing which I could never seem to do properly in FSX, although I did give up on them quite quickly.I do wish you could use the VC controls in the cockpit, but give them time I'm sure they'll begin to add lots of features.I have particular plans for mine, I intend setting up a stand alone PC in my living room for it and using Track IR, Joystick, Throttle and a bean bag I fancy a bit of leasurely gliding around Switzerland.CheersMartin.
  16. Actually Ian this plane feels a bit like the Hurricane to fly and its looks are similar to an extent of course, my favourite plane is the Spitfire, always has been but I do enjoy batting around the sky in any of the War birds, especially low and fast, that's really good fun and amazingly I didn't crash this one on my first rather fast and chaotic landing.Hats off to the developers for the best freeware I've seen yet, if you know of any others this good please let me know.CheersMartin
  17. I got my copy today and love it but it's no simulator, well not like FS9, FSX or X-Plane.It is however great fun to fly especially fast and low in the VC or High up using full screen no cockpit view, you do really get the feel of high altitude and low down the speed is awesome. It's worth the money just to try and help them continue to develop it, with the right addons like ATC, active controls in the VC and some AI Traffic I think it will be great. As for Arcadish I understand where you guys are coming from as the imagery is so very clean it does sometimes look a bit false but most of the time it's well gorgeous. They have a long road ahead of them with this one but I do hope they get there eventually.CheersMartin
  18. Going back to the original topic, I received my copy of Aerofly FS today and got to say while it's extremely good fun and graphically pleasing it's no real simulator but I do think it has the potential to be a great simulator.Unfortunately you can't use any of the controls in the VC and I can't set my throttle quadrant up properly to use the mixture lever which seems a bit odd, unless I'm missing something, Aerofly FS on the other hand is missing a lot when it comes to simulation, however the planes are great to fly and in full screen view with no cockpit visible, fully zoomed out you really do get the sense of being up high in the sky and boy is it fast.So my conclusion of this little report is, it's worth getting for the fun factor and hopefully it'll have a bright future but it's no replacement for FS9, FSX or X-Plane as yet, but if they get enough support well anything's possible.I'll try and do some videos and post a link when I do, maybe after I've read the manual a bit more I may find there's more to it than meets the eye.CheersMartin.PS. I'm running it on an AMD Phenom II X4 at 3.5ghz with a Saphire Radeon 5770 and 4gb 1333mhz Memory and getting pretty much 60FPS all the time, however when I activated some weather conditions I still got an high FPS but also got some serious pauses not stutters, the whole thing would stop for a second then continue which just made it awful to fly.
  19. This is a superb aircraft, just installed it tonight and had a quick fly in it, to say I'm impressed is an understatement, beautifully created and fly's great, thanks for the heads up on this one Ian.CheersMartin. :Applause:PS. Duxford's great too, along with Wadington, Marham & Conningsby and a couple of others I can't remember right now.

Just ordered me a copy out of curiosity as I think it looks really quite good, especially for just quick fun flying. Hopefully get in a week or so.CheersMartin.
  21. I use A2A Spitfire and I fly properly as much as possible, I just don't see how everyone can be so negative without even trying it, I have also flown the PMDG stuff etc.The problem is you all got a little too excited thinking Microsoft was about to release the X-Plane buster and create a major performance boost over FSX that you're all now feeling let down. I think Flight could become a major player but it won't if everyone gives up on it before it's even released. So give it a chance and maybe just maybe it'll become the dream you're looking for.One can only hope.CheersMartin.PS. Please don't bother starting an X-Plane vs FSX war as I use em all and I am very happy with all of them, just thought I'd point that out. :(
  22. It's not just Hawaii, that's only in the free version, if you pay for the full version you get more areas. It looks like they've decided to build it modules so you get the first part free and then just keep buying addons.I think it looks good and you really need to give it a try before slaggin it off so much, how can anyone judge a game by just watching a video?I'm personally looking forward to trying it, after all it adds another option to all the others I already have.Try it first, if you don't like it stick to FSX or what ever else you prefer.CheersMartin.PS. Don't see Grand Theft Auto in there at all, sorry.
  23. Hi AndyTry going into your bios and resetting the IRQ settings, you can normally set them to auto, also if your bios has the option that supports Windows OS, I can't remember the actual option but if it's there then enable it cus windows then finds extra hardware etc.I think you may have an IRQ conflict, sorry to be so vague but I can't remember the exact terminology in the Bios options. You could also tell the BIOS to load either the default settings or the optimised settings and see if that helps.CheersMartin
  24. OK this isn't a major problem but just looks a bit odd. When viewing the 787 from outside be it spot view or tower the wing tip lights flash correctly in the correct place but there is also a second set that sit about 2 feet or so above in the air floating around.I've checked on the FCS WEB site but couldn't find any patches or anything so I thought I'd come and ask you guys if there's anything I can do to correct the issue.Any ideas?CheersMartin.
  25. Just got me the Saitek Trim wheel and I gotta say it really does make a big difference to how easy and well you can trim the plane, level flight, climbs & decents were all so much easier and landing was smooth with no bobbing around trying to control the decent properly. It's quite expensive for what it is but as it works so well that does make the price acceptable. It will certainly be well used,CheersMartin.
