January 7, 201214 yr Ha, nice! An Aerosly FS forum! Hadn't noticed it up to now! This guy has some nice (HD) vids of Aerofly FS:http://www.youtube.com/user/TUCKIE10Hm, maybe I am going to buy Aerofly FS, just for the fun of it. One of the things I've been missing so far in FSX is sunshine: this one gives quite a sunny impression. It's a pity the autogen (apart from trees) is only places around airports, but this might be nice for a quick spin. This one looks nice too at full screen HD. The model and the shadows look awesome! The only thing why I didn't buy it yet (besides the fact that nothing works in the VC) is the lack of autogen houses... There are only autogen houses near airports: the rest is utterly flat. Autogeen trees look great, but flying over cities looks afwul (as with all photoreal scenery). If I would buy this one, it would be to do some fun flights every now and then, simply enjoying nice graphics, so having no autogen houses really spoils it... Edited January 7, 201214 yr by Guest
January 13, 201214 yr Just ordered me a copy out of curiosity as I think it looks really quite good, especially for just quick fun flying. Hopefully get in a week or so.CheersMartin.
January 25, 201214 yr Likewise ordered yesterday. Despite its short comings, it still seems to offer lots of pleasure tootling around, exploring a country that is famously beautiful... I like the idea that what I am seeing down there is really there, not some representative tile that may or may not be blurry...And loading in under a minute or so, lends itself to a quick flying fix when needed.
January 25, 201214 yr Autgen trees grow in rivers as well. Just deleted Aerofly FS a few minutes ago.
January 31, 201214 yr From what I have seen so far, there are autogen trees alongside streams and rivers, but not actually in them or any of the lakes... My only gripe with FSX (apart from looong load times) used to be a combination of sometimes blurred terrain but also that horrible 'popping' out by terrain as you approach, which spoil that immersion feeling... I don't get any of those issues with little SIM, and 75fps on cross country flights as well as airport areas are normal.
February 10, 201214 yr Autgen trees grow in rivers as well. Just deleted Aerofly FS a few minutes ago.I hope you don't jump to judgements and preconceptions that easily in the real world..... ultimately, it's your loss and the Aerofly world will survive without you I'm sure. :wink:As a busy man, whose primary interest in flight simming is immersion and a convincing feeling of actually being in the sky and moving (over missions to fly through boxes etc), this is now the only flight sim I'm using. That's not to say it's better than FSX because they are both so different. Clearly FSX is more feature rich, but Aerofly appears, dare I say, to use PC technology far more efficiently. As I have said earlier, the visuals I am enjoying with Aerofly, at 60 FPS, would give me about 8 FPS in FSX. ......and I don't have the time to give to FSX at the moment, whereas Aerofly allows me to be flying in under a minute. :smile:I would love the provided world to expand beyond Switzerland but I'll wait patiently for that.....
