Help...DLL Errors coming out of my ears!!

Featured Replies

Hi All,I'm running into a terribly irritating problem. My neighbour is installing FS9 on his system (Dell 8250, 512MB RAM, Nvidia MX420 64MB, SB Live!, WinXP) and when we try and double click the FS9.exe icon on the desktop the following DLL's show as being unable to load:acontainAI_playrATCControlsDemoFacilitiesFEFlightFSUIG2DG3DInstructorMainMultiplayerSoundSymmapTerrainTrafficand a partridge in a pear tree!!We've un-installed and reinstalled with the same result. I updated the drivers, disabled AGP Texturing, disabled sound acceleration and graphic's acceleration....same results. I can't ever remember reading here or on other forums about a situation close to this. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?? Reinstalling Windows is NOT an option so let's not even go down that path :-)Thanks for the help!!Mike - and an anxious neighbour.....http://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg

Hi Mike,Did you install the sim using the Adminstrator login or rights(RunAs)? Are you trying to run the sim as Administrator? Right click on one of these .dll's and then click the 'Security' Tab. Does it show the proper rights for the User that is trying to run the sim? I would think that the User trying to run the sim should have 'Read and Execute' and 'Read' rights to the files. Don't know if this is the problem at all but it's what comes mind for me.Good Luck,Jim

Also verify that these .dll's are in fact in the Modules folder of FS9.

Also are the modules in the correct modules folder and spelled correctly?Just a wild guess.Ed

Yes, exactly. These should be in the Flight Simulator 9Modules folder and also 'should not' have the 'Hidden' attribute checked.Jim
