January 21, 200422 yr First, I apologize for starting a thread which has been started so many times recently. However, I just can not emphasize enough just how good Real Air's products are. I purchased the SF260 shortly after their upgrade for FS2004. I have flown this one almost exclusively since. Yesterday, I purchased the Decathlon and it is just as fantastic. Both of these aircraft are truly something special. I just have not tried anything which even comes close to providing the overall experience I crave as a simmer than these aircraft by Real Air.Another thing is the customer service. The service they provide is just as good as the aircraft. I have exchanged several Emails with Rob Young, and he is nothing short of a complete gentleman. Also, after an online purchase, the download link and password were in my email box immediately and I was up and flying in minutes after purchase of both aircraft. The installation process could not be easier, and both aircraft come with excellent documentation. The package is very professional at every level. So if you enjoy GA aircraft, and especially if you enjoy aerobatic GA aircraft, you can not go wrong with Real Air. By the way, nothing else I have tried even comes close for aerobatics, thanks the the flight model wizardry of Rob Young.Just to make sure this is clear, I am in no way associated with Real Air Simulations, I am just a VERY satisfied customer.regards,Dave
January 21, 200422 yr Loving the 260. I'm planning to get the Decathlon this afternoon actually...Its great to be able to enjoy such high quality add-ons without any noticeable hit to performance. The framerates while flying the 260 are as good as the defualt planes...
January 21, 200422 yr Hello,You won't be disappointed with the Decathlon. I have 70+ hours actual time on this a/c (all aerobatics). It will be difficult to find such a faithfull flight model (air file). I even could reproduce perfectly a complex maneuver like the "Avalanche", a snaproll at the top of a loop. Not to mention the realistic ground loop and the ground effect while landing. RAS did it. Who else ?Regards,
January 24, 200422 yr Author Thank you kind sir. When we get reasonable and patient customers it is all the more rewarding to deliver aircraft that they enjoy.I appreciate the trouble you took to post this.Kind Regards,Rob Young - RealAir Simultions Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
January 24, 200422 yr Hi Rob-Didn't you hint that a light twin might be coming? I didn't see anything about it on the page-just wondered....Thanks! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Animation1.gif Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
January 24, 200422 yr I've been away for a few days and have missed the threads concerning RealAir.It goes beyond Rob and Sean offering some of the best add-ons for FS. For me it's as much about the interaction between RealAir and the community. It is second to none. When we buy any product we naturally come to appreciate it more when the people we buy it from are great to work with. In this day of oft times unfair and inconvenient useage agreements, RealAir stands head and shoulders above the norm for offering prompt and customer friendly support and purchasing ease. When they recently offered the free upgrade for the SF.260 I began to wonder just how much sleep Rob was getting during the 2 week download period. He did more than just make the announcement that the upgrade was available, he actually went into the public forums searching for current customers so that he could get their upgrade to them.Like many in the hobby I've become burnt out on many payware offerings because of the difficulty imposed by many sellers upon the customer. RealAir has done just the opposite for their fellow simmers. This to me is as important as the quality of the payware I buy.I've said it before, but it seems that it can't be said enough...:-beerchug to RealAir
January 24, 200422 yr Realair simulations still is one of my favourites!! Rob and Sean have developed a lot of great stuff for the FS comunity.I still use their Citabria/decathlon for Fly2 which I rank as the best aircraft so far in my simming career!!So I say : hats off for RAS!!!And check out my site for some great Decathlon shots :)http://avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/fly2/sin...a/citabria.htmlJohnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/zone.jpg ][/div
January 24, 200422 yr I have to agree. I bought the SF.260 four days ago and have flown a total of eight hours - just love it. Made a trip from KPTN to KIAH this morning - wonderful. Someone say something about a twin? Thanks RealAir for your products.Erv KSDF High end with 5090, VR, 2020 & 2024.
January 25, 200422 yr Author Hi Greg,Thanks for the toast. I'll have a sip or two.Actually I got about 4 hours sleep a night for two weeks and it half killed me! Disappointingly, there are STILL stragglers asking for upgrades and of course we can't turn them down if they are bone fide purchasers. As long as everyone realises that for each request that doesn't have an order number/date/details to give us, it takes up to 15 minutes to find the order and confirm. Doesn't sound much but if you get 20 such requests everyday it starts eating seriously into development time!Cheers again and thanks for your kind words.Rob Young - RealAir Simulations Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
