EngineStart Issue

Featured Replies

Hi I'm getting very frustrated with the NGX. It's been sitting in the hanger for around a month as I'm getting frustrated with the engine start. For some reason engine 2 will not start on occasion. I have everything set to go and engine 1 starts fine, but 2 will not start. Is this a known problem? Thanks

thanks for the link. Ive been flying the NG in FS for quite a while, but seem to get stuck on the engine 2 start. The setting are identical for each engine but I get smoke off the engine 2 and hear it spooling after setting to GRND and then nothing - no spinning of the blades at all. This is after setting to Cold and Dark.

Ensure your 'R PACK' & 'L PACK' switches are off, 'ISOLATION VALVE' is 'OPEN', and you have a bleed air source.

As for bleed source we intend APU bleed or engine 1 bleed with eng 1 not in idle (rh pneumatic duct pressure over 30 psi)

Ensure the isolation valve is in auto or open and packs are off.I couldn't start the second engine one day, first engine started fine, but the second one just wouldn't start, after 10 minutes of troubleshooting I realized the isolation valve was In the off position.
