Getting the volts down with offset?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,as I have some problems with my stored 4.6 GHz OC profile (Blue screens) which had worked like a charm before I´d upgraded my PSU, I downclocked the CPU to 4.2 GHz via the multiplier leaving everything else like the profile. The performance satisfies me to a certain degree (Will the 400 additional MHz be worth fiddeling arround and noticable at all?) I wan´t to get the volts down a bit. CPU-Z give me an voltage of 1.368V while at 4.2. I remember that 4.6 with exactly the same settings only needed 1.344 - 1.350V. The offset voltage is at +0.070 as it had been in the profile. In which direction have I to change the offset to get them down a bit? Or should I try to get 4.6 GHz running again?

Best regards, Steffen

It's absolutely maddening, isn't it? What I've found is that to get the vCore down under load using offset, you have several options depending on your MB: 1) reduce the 0.07 to, say, 0.06 or as low as you can go without losing stability; or 2) fiddle with the specific settings for voltage under load, if you have them; or 3) reduce the load line calibration setting: eg, from 100% to 75% (your BIOS settings may have different labels).
