BITE test - Generator Diagnostics

Just read in 737 Tech Guide by Chris Brady : the functions of the Generator Diagnostics panel and Power System Test panel are all contained within the AC & DC Metering panel on the NG. A BITE test can be initiated by pressing the MAINT button with the 2 selectors in the TEST position. Just tried this in the NGX and what do you know it has been modelled - nice touch PMDG. Give it a try - it runs through a test which you can see on the display/metering panel then delivers the result/msg. Mine was 'NO FAULTS STORED'. Great work will search for some more tech stuff that has been included and not discovered as yet!

The BITE test on electrical meters, battery and galley power module is only for DC Generation and Standby Power system not for the AC Generation system.If the ELEC light illuminates when there is A DC generation or Standby power failure you can perform a BITE check to isolate the problem of the DC generation or Standby power system by performing the following:- Put the AC and DC selector switches to the TEST position,- Temporarily push the MAINT switch. The LED display first perform's a Display test to show all segment of the LED display, After 15 seconds, If there is no Failure the following message will show "NO FAULTS STORED".If there is a Failure these messages can be displayed* PANEL FAILURE (soft, display operates)* INTERFACE FAILURE* BAT CHGR INOP* STAT INV INOP* SPCU INOP.To scroll trough the fault list just push the MAINT switch, the last message to display is always HOLD BUTTON CLEAR FAULTS. It means to push and hold the MAINT switch until the display show FAULTS CLEARED. The FAULTS will only be cleared when problem is resolved.
