October 28, 201114 yr Coolers: my expert and I were very impressed at how much OC we got on my i5-2500K with only the stock (Intel retail package) cooler. I had assumed I'd need a better cooler but we ended up not using. Just saying - try without it, see if you can save money. It's not like the older generation Intel chips that ran hot.

It's not like the older generation Intel chips that ran hot.I was pushing upwards of 100 degrees on my I7 with the stock (air) cooler, so I put in liquid cooling, now I don't get to 50 degrees.
