Tutorial for adjusting [Lights] in aircraft.cfg

Recommended Posts

I've been upgrading my AI aicraft (slowly but surely) with "Jan's" FDEs. Some of the aicraft have repositioned heights as well as other tweaks. As a result, some of my shockwave light settings are no longer aligned properly. Can anyone refer me to a tutorial on how to tweak the height and left/right settings in the [lights] section of the aircraft.cfg so that my lights matchup with the contact points? I just tried it on my own with the TFS DHC8-100/200 and I couldn't get anything to line up right. Thanks in advance for any help!Markus

Markus, the first coordinate in the [LIGHTS] section lines is how far aft or towards the nose from the reference point of the aircraft the light will be. Positive numbers are closer to the nose, negative move towards the aftThe second coordinate means how far the light will be from the longitudinal axis of an aircraft -- higher number goes further out (navigational green and red lights have a large number because they are far out from the fuselage. Negative value is one side of the aircraft, positive the other. The last coordinate is simply the height above the reference point.Just change one number at a time and check in FS. :smile:regards,Jure
