replacing cfg file

I need some help, I have downloaded the tweaked cfg file provided by Bojote and made a copy of the original cfg. How do I go about installing the new file in my fsx program, and removing the old one. I am running w7. Please excuse my ignorance, I am not real savvy on computers.ThanksTerry

The tweaked file should be automatically installed if provided by Bojote. He then backs up the original or keeps a copy on his website in case you ever want to retrieve it (you don't). So, the FSX.cfg on your system right now should be the tweaked file. The installed version of FSX.cfg for Windows 7 is located in C:/Users/(Your User ID)/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX. This is a hidden folder so you need to make sure you can see hidden folders. To do this, click on the Start button and in the Search bar, type hidden folders, then look up in the menu and you should see "Show Hidden Folders". Click on this and then scroll down and click on the statement to show hidden folders.Best regards,JimP.S. I say you don't need to get your old FSX.cfg back if you don't like the Bojote tweaked version as you simply delete his tweaked version, restart FSX and the config will be rebuilt.

Thanks for the reply re cfg, I checked and I still have the original cfg in the program, I have the updated one saved to a folder. Can I go into cfg and select all and delete then copy and paste the new file in?ThanksTerry

Sure, or simply add the new folder and it will replace the original.
