smoking engine number 2 after deaktivating auto brake

Featured Replies

Hello MD11-captains out there!I'm quite new to the MD11 although I have spent some hours flying this beautiful aircraft. I think PMDG has made a fantastic job there.I didn't find major bugs until now, still I noticed a strange issue and would simply like to know, if some of you have got the same trouble:When landing the airplane with auto-brake set (min or med) I always get a smoking enginge number 2 (tail) after deaktivating the ABS by hitting the brakes (pedal or pressing "."). Normally you don't notice this, because the problem is gone when switching the auto-brake-selector to the "off" position and this is something you usually do while sitting in the cockpit (vc or 2d-panel). I only noticed this when switching to an outside view while rolling out on the runway.Imagine this situation: Your are on final, touch down, go into reverse thrust and notice the ABS being activated and slowing the airplane down. Before hitting the brakes manually you take a look at the airplane slowing down from the outside and then you deactivate ABS by hitting the brakes. Then my engine number 2 starts smoking. There is no fire alarm and no alerting informations in the cockpit.Strangely this doesn't occur, when not using auto brake during landing but using manual brake to decelerate to taxi speed.I hope that someone out there is able to give me a little help. Thanks a lot!Kind regards, kriggelb

Sorry, of course I should have written "deactivate" with a "c"...That happens when mixing up German and English:-)

This won't help you anyhow, but never had such issue. Never even heard about it...Just a guess - do you use some random failures, FSpax or anything like that? What other addons you have installed (not aircrafts)?

Thanks for the answer eNVee!I don't have FSpassenger installed but I use other addons. There is FS2crew for the MD11, for example. Furthermore I use Ultimate Traffic 2 and AES (airport enhancement from aerosoft).Maybe it has to do with FS2crew, but I can't imagine a product that has actually been developed to fit with the original pmdg-product causing this issue...But it just comes to my mind, that aes creates special runway effects (water, snow) on supported airports. Maybe the smoke has something to do with that, still it remains to be very strange. As long as there is no warning in the cockpit, it doesn't seem to be a problem endangering the aircraft's or passengers' health status, does it?Kind regards, kriggelb

Can you try disabling AES and FS2Crew and just run a testflight? Or maybe you have found the solution already?PS Sorry for not answering so long!
