  1. Yes, and then rant about it!
  2. All the best in your new position Kyle!
  3. I'm totally not an expert in this but wouldn't it be possible via some third party software? Like FSUIPC or any other?
  4. Exactly! ICAO and MAS did not fire anything...
  5. You can try and go through all the possible troubleshooters for SB4 but tbh that will not help you. Solving this problem will lead you in another (i.e. - crashing FSX when someone writes a PM, etc. etc.). FSinn is a way to go. It is not bug-free, but it works. You'll need to configure it properly and then it works.
  6. Simple and kinda blunt suggestion - turn it all off. This all is not working in normal way, never did. Plus it makes sim to perform worse.
  7. No, it's not. Like any other hobby, that includes buying/upgrading/maintaining part.
  8. It's sad that I can not say exactly what holds your MD11 away from starting desc., but setting minimums (like DH) has nothing to do with this. If you see the arrow-marked T/D point, it has to start descending without specific minimums.
  9. Yes, when I faced this problem for the first time, I thought the same, but later on found out that this has nothing to do with flows or procedures you are performing. Even tried things like bringing plane back to cold&dark (simply switching all of, not by loading panel state) and then trying to start all over. Never helped. Once it refuses to align - it's not gonna work. Only solution - restart flight. I was reffering to Rob aka Sponge, not RSR.
  10. Rob and others... As it was pointed out - unfortunately MD11 produces this error time after time if you use short align time. This is no user error Kyle. It just happens. It has nothing to do with clicking INITIALIZE IRS either. What I am not sure of... that you will completely eliminate the problem with the full time align setting. It still may happen. However, I can not confirm.
  11. Hi! Let me make it short! This is the best combination so far: PMDG plane (best planes) + PFPX (best palnning tool) + VATSIM I would like to add one more add-on to this list: OpusFSX. Best weather tool for FSX. Don't be afraid! You can easily use text only for comms with online ATCs or you can "receive" voice and reply with text. This is up to you. I would strongly suggest NOT to use any passenger simulating software, because those add loads of unneccessary s*itload and unrealistic failures, etc. But that's a question of taste, ofcourse.
  12. nah, he uses some 3rd party camer addon to switch between panels!
  13. You will have to use emergency evacuation rope for that, sir!
  14. Ha ha, these are the moments that keep us flying and trying to get better. Well done Marko!
  15. Hi Luke, If you want to be absolutely sure, just ask them, they always reply, and always share such info. Get well fast!
  16. Ok, nice to see you did not take my thoughts as any kind of insults or offence, those were not intended that way! Have to confess - I do agree with you for the most part. What I was trying to say and probably lot of MD-11 owners did..., is that I would buy another (new) version of this masterpiece only for "small" improvements. It is not possible to guess what those sales could be if this a/c would get released after NGX and T7, some good teasers+ads... ok, I am dreaming there. Anyway, PMDG loyal customer base has increased a lot, that should play some role in the figures of the sales. Take care and please forgive my bad English!
  17. Let me feed you with the same "medicine" you are giving there... "However, how do you know what will and won't take much work?" I can agree with a thought, that MD-11 (release of it) had a bad timing. So very unfortunate for us. However, I enjoy flying it for years now. IF the release date would be in next 2 months... Ok, I will not make any guess! It's so sad we can't get an update for this fantastic aircraft. All we can do - kindly suggest existing NGX and T7 customers to go and support PMDG (+ bash them hard for MD-11 update :diablo:) and specially MD-11! Go and get it guys, it's way more fun than any true Boe, even T7...! I shall not fear those flying objects at me.
  18. completely disagree with those who say to bring LOD radius down to 4.5 I use setting of 6.5 and never had any OOMs. However - this might be system-specific. Rest of the suggestions I could fully agree. Clouds and traffic make huge impact on preformance.
  19. If you are not using some software, like FSpassengers and disbaled all failures, then time acceleration should be only possibilty, that makes this kind of trouble. Accelerating time usually gets you in trouble with PMDG aircrafts, except T7. ILS untunable is a different issue. Could it be, that scenery navaids were in a disagreement with what you have in the AIRAC data? When this happens, just pause sim, open the FSX map and see if the ILS freq. in FSX is the same what your NAV RAD page is trying to tune.
  20. I did really made a mistake messing up TAT and OAT... :( While I have your attention here, let me ask another question - how do I get wind gusts at low altitudes when taking off or landing? As far as I understand - turbulence is simulated via DHM and cameras, right? Thanks again!
  21. Answer received @ jaw-dropping speed... :Hypnotized: Thank you Stephen for clarification, shame on me...
  22. Hello! First of all let me say that I do enjoy using this nice software. It's a must have for any FSX/P3D user. I did try other 2 well known weather engines... never going back! So far I've been playing only with LiveWeather and always using only real-time weather. As I fly exclusively online (VATSIM), its rather important to have a good weather engine, that can take control over FSX crazy wind shears and etc. So far all is well and I am happy - if there happens any, its a VERY short one, and almost no impact on aircraft's behavior. However, what confuses me a bit are those cruise altitude temperatures. I am talking about FL310 up to FL410. Never tested lower or higher than that for extended period. All the forecasts, maps (Assistant) show temperetures around -45 to -50 deg. Celsius, but I never get anything higher than -22C displayed as TAT. It doesn't make any problems for flying itself. I was using default settings for the weather engine. Later on I tried to uncheck that Sim friendly GRIB temp. target (or what was it called correctly?), unchecked Automatic settings adjustment, and many more. But never got those temps to drop at high altitude. I am crosschecking the winds enroute with PFPX - great accuracy, pressure and temperature is always spot on in the airports, all is well..., but the temps in cruise. May I ask to give some hint what settings should be used to have them not "trimmed" for easy flying, but to have them as per report? Or am I missing something? Please excuse me if this has been discussed somewhere before! If thats the case, please point it for me! Thank you in advance! A short update... While I was typing this, my friend tested this with different aircraft. Default FSX a/c was showing exactly reported temp. @ FL360 that was -56C. Then he switched to NGX... -21C, next T7...-21C. Is this PMDG specific or I have missed some FCOM reading? Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!
  23. PFPX + OpusFSX + T7. Yesterday I told to my fellow simmers - this combination is scary precise, very easy to use and lots of additional information at your fingertips. I guess its same with any PMDG a/c.
