VFR Charts

Featured Replies

Hi,does anybody know a good source of (downloadable) Sectionals, WAC's, ONC's or other charts suitable for VFR flight planning? I found a lot covering the US but none of the rest of the world :-(Thanks, Tom.

Hi, www.aeroplanner.com offers expired digital charts, the prices are very reasonable. Europe is covered with 12 ONCs.Edit: With a freeware tool called FSFlightMax Chart Viewer you can link the charts to FS as a moving map - the difference to FSGarmin and FSFlightMax is that it displays almost in full screen and is much less resource demanding. Nothing beats this on a second monitor or networked PC (orless comfortably, toggled with ALT ENTER).

Uwe,Thanks for that hint, but I forgot to mention that I've allready found this site. Yes, the price is fully ok and this would be definitively the solution for Europe. But there is one problem. The viewer offered by Aeroplanner demands US number formatting. So I'm looking for a standalone viewer I can use without FS that accepts German number formatting. Does FSFlightMax Chart Viewer match this requirements and can you give me a hint where to get this piece of software? And -- do you have any ideas where to get the charts for the rest, especially for Canada, New Zealand and Australia?Regards, Tom

Hi, I use German local settings as well - no problems with the FSFlightMax Chart Viewer. Did you have problems with the light viewer as well, or only with the full blown program version? It works for me as well. Aeroplanner offers a free Guam chart you could use to try the viewers.http://www.marineplanner.com/temp/nos_geo_viewer.exeThe FSFlightMax Chart Viewer may not have been uploaded when FSAvionics went down, I can send it to you via e-mail. It never received much recognition, but is an awesome free tool.I purchased bundled digital charts for Australia and New Zealand (Sim Map Packs) to be used with OziExplorer (with or without a connected GPS) or the FSAvionics software (FSFlightMax, FSGarmin) linked to FS from AVGPSMAPS, but the site
