Trees for Fs9?

Featured Replies

Hi SimmersCould I get some votes for the best addon trees that work in fs9, I am still using the defaults. Tried several others in 2002, do they work? Would like to see if I can get the autumn colors a bit more realistic. Thanks for any help.

Defaults here as well. I find the defaults as nice as the addon ones for FS2002, so I really have no reason to change, sorry. You couild try to back up the originals and loading them into an editing program and playing with the colors until you find a blend you like.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters

I use Blue Sphere textures and the tone-matched trees for those. And am very happy. I think I read somehwere Gerrish Gray is working on FS2004 trees to match the quality of his offerings in FS2002. That should be worth waiting for!Allcott

I suppose most of you then haven't tried the addon trees made by Pekka Martikainen, a project called "Forestration Project". They include some extremely nice birch trees, and every simmer that flies in conditions like the Nordic ones would not hesitate in replacing the default ones with these.I find many other addon packs to be quite similar to the default trees, too similar.

"Forestration Project". ??I currently use Gerrish's Connifers. Nice trees. Where would I find these Forest Project trees?

Been using Gerrishes trees for a long time - much better than the defaults.Dave

Try FS Nordic for "Forestration Project".

Thanks efva; I gave em' a try. They're too noisy for my ATI card. I'll stay with Gerrish's Connifers. Nice and thick and they don't twinkle with my ATI.

It really depends on how one has their autogen scenery set.If the FS2004 autogen slider is set to the right, the density of trees is going to match Garrish's trees. The only noticable difference is the style of trees in the scenery. If one is running FS2004 at a lower setting to enhance frame-rates, then adding Garrish's trees would make sense.Bruce

Thanks again GuysThis gives me a few ideas to try.I'll be Back!! Trust Me!!!!!!

>Thanks efva; I gave em' a try. They're too noisy for my ATI>card. I'll stay with Gerrish's Connifers. Nice and thick and>they don't twinkle with my ATI.Aha. I've never experienced anything like that. I guess Forestration Project best replicates the Nordic forests, with mostly conifer trees, then areas with partly conifers, partly birch trees, and the areas with only birch trees. What I live with Forestration Project is their autumn and spring textures, which no other addon tree pack seems to have really correct for those areas I fly in (the Nordic countries). The autumn colours truly replicate the famous Finnish "ruska" in Lapland.
