November 25, 201114 yr hello ,I hope someone can give me an answer to a strange problem with installing FSX,I wil try to keep it short ,I am running win 7 64 bit ,I have had to replace my D drive ,due to performing a quick format on it in error!! , D drive had MS FSX plus adds on etc and was also used for storing my canon raw files lots of them ,I replaced D drive with a used but reformatted drive ,intending to recover my files at a later date .I know have a C drive for win7 and an empty D drive for MS FSX . I have tried to reinstall MS FSX 3 times, but all I get is a screen stating repair or uninstall neither option works ,can anybody tell me what is stopping MS FSX from installing ,what is still left on C drive and where is it and if poss how to remove it ,any help will be most appreciated ,many thanks for reading this peter
November 25, 201114 yr The FSX registry entries are still there, so the installer interrogates the registry, finds the entries and thinks it's still installed. Not sure what the answer is other than to remove the fsx entries from the registry. Not sure whether if you run a repair, it will effectively see that all the files are missing and do a full install.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
November 26, 201114 yr Author thank you cianpars for your reply ,I did a search of the reg using regedit function and cleared about 6 entries relating to FSX and bingo MS FSX installed like a dream ,know the acceleration pack will not install !, auto run simply flashes onto the screen and then disappears,I have tried to find reg entries for the acceleration add on but no luck ,I wonder where they are hiding ? thanks for your replypeter
