February 4, 200422 yr I set up my new machine last night, installed FS9, fired up a Cessna 172 on the tarmac at Sea-Tac and had no panel. The area where the panel is supposed to be is black, but upon "mouse-over" I get the pop-up text and ability to click on panel controls but I can't see them. If I change to virtual cockpit everything is OK. Same with the Baron. I tried a 737 and had a panel. I just set everything up late last night so I don't have a complete list of what aircraft this is happening to but this is a clean install of FS9 no addon aircraft, scenery, etc.Machine:Asus P4P800P4 3.0ghz 800mhz FSB1gb Samsung PC3200Gainward FX5200 256mbWD 120gb HDDNEC DVD burnerOS:Win2kThanks in advance for any help.
February 4, 200422 yr Nice rig, Congrats. With the 5200 Vid card, I would sugest you upgrading the drivers as the ones that shipped may be aged a bit.You can check Gainwards site or Nvidia's.http://www.gainward.comhttp://www.nvidia.comLet us know if this helps. You also may want to try a search here in the forums for "black panel", and read through some of the threads.Regards,Joehttp://aboutpolitics.net/images/bannerav.gif.About Politics.net - FORUMShttp://pub162.ezboard.com/baboutpolitics.Contribute to the Richard Harvey Scholarship Fund.http://www.avsim.com/pages/scholarship.shtml CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
February 4, 200422 yr Hey the sig does work...cool. Anyways after doing some searching for "black panel"(thanks for the tip), it looks like others have had the problem resolved with updated drivers. It was so darn late when I got FS9 installed that I didn't want to mess with it. I'll give it a try after work today. Thanks again.
February 5, 200422 yr Author If the updates graphics adapter drivers doesn't work, make sure you installed the MOBO's Controller Chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
