Vector shorelines in other parts of the world

Featured Replies

HiI am aware of UT but for other parts of the world that UT does not cover, what if any shoreline enhancing products are available. Pretty much the last thing I need in my sim to make it look great is to enhance the shorelines in places like Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East. There is nothing worse than comming across a shoreline that we see so often in these parts of the world that looks like it was drawn by a 4th grader.Any large coverage area payware products out there? Thanks

They don't cover the world yet, but you can try the openVFR stuff, it's made from the open streetmaps data, and is not as good as UT in actual vector data, but can be better in other areas and is certainly better than default. if you only want a few areas it's pretty cheap too, but if you buy all their stuff it gets pretty expensive, they currently have scens for most south american countries and large parts of Africa. Europe is pretty well covered as well (I use their UK IRELAND scenery) they have a few demo regions to try. Not Bad, better than default, quality from area to area varies due to the available open source data, but I'm happy with what I've bought so far

I am really just looking for shorelines as I am satisfied with the look of FSglobal and Ground environment at the higher altitudes I fly at. The only bummer is when you get to areas where the shorelines are horrible.
