I seem to recall its one of the setup options in the FMC.

I run mine wide open.. I like to see all the other fishes in the sky..BTW, running it wide open has no effect on the warnings givenif another fish gets too close.. It still acts the same as when it'srestricted. You just see all within your ND's distance setting ifit's unlimited.
