Driftdown with FMS

Recommended Posts

I have a question about the driftdown phase after an engine failure. After performing the engine shutdown items as described in the QRH, the driftdown phase commences.I select the cruise page on the CDU. I select ENG OUT >then RT ENG OUT>the text highlights, Also the maximum altitude displays and the max cont n1.I'm not shure, but I expected the [exe] button would be available at this moment, but it isn't.Am I following the correct procedure or is something wrong with the FMS?I can't find anything about this topic on the forum or in the manuals.Best regards,Rico

I believe that is info only, so nothing to execute. You have to set the N1 and MCP controls yourself.

Yes, it is for info only. The target speed changes to the minimum drag speed. When you are finished viewing the info press the ERASE prompt.Fred.
