December 3, 201114 yr Commercial Member I spent a good few hours yesterday playing with the demo. The weather and clouds are very impressive. Felt very realistic flying though cloud solid cloud layers. Also flying just under a cloud level had that feeling you were going to hit the ceiling which is what I experience in real life. The framerates are quite good with medium settings. Dragging the window across 2 screens maybe loses 5-10% which is very acceptable.Being new to xp need a bit of advice.1. I'm using the manuals for xp9 for help. This has worked ok so far, is there a different link for xp10 manuals?2. If I'm flying jets I like something small like a 737. Is it possible to get hold of a small twin jet with a virtual cockpit from somewhere? Otherwise,3. Is it possible to set all throttles on the 747 to one joystick axis? I've only got 3 on my CH yoke.4. Come the final version do we get worldwide scenery/airport coverage? Thanks in advance Click here for GameSpy replacement

In the calibration screen, find the throttle axis by moving the lever up and down, click on the drop down menu and select "throttle". You will see this, and further down, you will see throttle 1, throttle 2, etc... The one that simply says "throttle" is the one that controls ALL engines from one axis. After selecting it, move the throttle axis through the full range of motion again. (I'm still puzzled how people take a long time to do this part)4. Yes
December 3, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Goran, Just found the manual myself. How did I miss that yesterday lol.Same goes for missing the throttle, in my defence I'd assumed it would be with throttle1/2/3/4! (Not much of a defence I know!) Jumping into the 747 now for a CATIII approach.Lastly do we know how accurate the worldwide coverage will be? For me it would be nice to have all taxiways correct etc. Click here for GameSpy replacement
December 3, 201114 yr Commercial Member Worldwide coverage is something you will have to ask AIPILOT. As far as I know, he does the global scenery. From what I have seen so far in various released screenshots, it's pretty impressive.
December 3, 201114 yr Lastly do we know how accurate the worldwide coverage will be? For me it would be nice to have all taxiways correct etc.Taxiways etc will be accurate (all navaids and airport layouts updated circa monthly) but keep in mind you will not have generic buildings in worldwide airports, except in a handful of them. With time, X-Plane community will develop buildings for various airports so you will be able to download those made available.Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
December 3, 201114 yr Airports will have accurate runways and they will have accurate taxiways if the informaiton is provided to the developers. If not, then a generic taxiway is added. There are tons of airports to download from x-plane.org - you should book mark www.x-plane.org as your one-stop shop for everything x-plane.
