Warning for Project Opensky fans

Featured Replies

Be careful how you type the URL! I went to visit the site, typed the URL and mistyped "projectopensky" as "project-opensky". Turns out to be another one of those lovely sites that obtains url's close to popular ones on the hopes of catching ppl's typos... And it turned out to be one of those sites that immediately tries to hijack your browser settings... Just thought I'd share this, and next time I'll wait until I am awake before I type in a URL :)-John

GOOGLE works for me as does Favourites that way tired or not my browser remains unhijacked. Thanks for the warning.Andy b

Hmm...I typed it in and it didn't attempt to hijack anything on my machine. Then again, I use the Firebird Browser. :-)John, are you using IE for your browser?Regards,Joehttp://mozilla.org/firebirdhttp://aboutpolitics.net/images/bannerav.gif.About Politics.net - FORUMShttp://pub162.ezboard.com/baboutpolitics.Contribute to the Richard Harvey Scholarship Fund.http://www.avsim.com/pages/scholarship.shtml

CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.

I use Firebird at home but IE on my laptop..the incident happened while I was on a business trip and I was using my laptop. I am afraid IE is mandated on our field equipment and SMS is used to audit it against "unauthorized" browsers. I could lock IE down to keep the risks of the problem down, but it hinders some of the work I have to do in the field. As I noted above, just wanted to warn ppl to be careful what they type. -John
