ATC Problems

Featured Replies

hi folks,Ok so I'm in a Saab 340 NorthWest Airlink aircraft and ATC tells me to climb to FL220. I climb and level off but ATC tells me to expidite my climb. I'm actually at FL220 and they tell me to expidite. Not making sence people.I also don't understand the autopilot on the plane. There has to be a fix to this. I'm getting mad at it.

The altimeter setting was my first thought at well, once above flight level 180 it should be reset to 29.92Usually if you have show flying tips checked, you will get a message that your altimeter is set wrong and needs to be reset. As far as the autopilot, I have just recently delved into it myself, and found the information in the help and learning center very beneficial. I flew this sim for years without bothering to learn anything about the autopilot, now I am very glad I have done so - makes for some much more relaxing flights. :)

Well, once I contact a new frequencie, I tell the controlers that I'm at a certian altitiude and climbing to FL220. I say something like this:"Cleavland Center, NorthWest 6079 is at FL212 for FL220." Then they acknowlege it:"NorthWest 6079, Cleavland Center Roger. Altimeter 3039." I find out that the altimeter is set at 29.92. I changed it to 30.39.I dont understand what happened.

The Cleveland Center altimeter setting of 30.39" only applies to flights below FL180. Since you are flying at FL212 your altimeter should be set to 29.92".Cheers,- jahman.
