December 16, 201114 yr My apologies if this is a basic question, but I can't seem to figure out the logical order of steps.I generated a custom flight route on simroutes.com and downloaded it as a .pln file for FSX.From the Free Flight Menu I chose flight planner, and selected my downloaded customized route to be applied.I can confirm the flight route imported properly, as the route is depicted accurately in the EDIT tab. However, the problem is ... I don't know how to apply the departure location. The departure airport is listed followed by "- unknown". I'd like to start at a gate.If I press OK, my flight starts at some random spot at the airport. If I press Departure location "select" and choose a starting position, I'm unable to start my flight without again generating a flight plan. If I reload my custom flight plan, I'm back at the same problem without a starting location. I can select Find Route, but I don't want to use FSX's generated plan. How do I keep my imported route but make a simple adjustment to the starting locating at the destination airport? RM Killins
December 16, 201114 yr Do not pick the departure airport from within the flight plan menu, open the flight plan menu, click on load - choose the flight plan you created, and then click on OK. It will ask you if want to move your aircraft to the departure airport, click on yes of course, and ok out to main screen. Now, from the main screen, instead of clicking on fly now - click the change button on your departure listing, then ONLY change the starting position, ie choose a gate - then click on ok.Now, click on fly now, and you should start off at the gate! December 16, 201114 yr Glad to help! I recently started loading flight plans created outside of FSX, and had to figure that one out as well. Don B
