Voice ATIS message in ASE

Featured Replies

Hello,Recently I purchased Active Sky Evolution as a replacement for AS6.5 (using FS9). Everything works fine, except for one feature: the voice ATIS service. The sound sets are activated during ASE initialisation and the relevant box in the config screen has been ticked. I also checked the COM settings in the aircraft config file. Everything seems to be OK, but still no sound when 122.000 is being selected. All other sounds (like ATC) work well. Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance for any input.Regards,René

Hi,The only explanation I can think of is that your installation is problematic and the voice files are not being found. In that regard I'd recommend a reinstall. if you continue having trouble please contact our support department and we can look into this in more detail (please provide logs). Thank you!

Thanks for your fast reply Damian. I've meanwhile found the 'culprit'. In AS6.5 I used to tune the Wx info frequency on the COM2 radio. Apparently in ASE one has to use COM1. It works now; should add though that it is less comfortable, as switching frequencies on one radio, which is also used for ATC, is a bit tedious in an approach phase. But then, this is a tiny detail in an otherwise great addon! Thanks again.René

Hi,Actually with ASE it should be looking at your intercom configuration, so you would need to activate COM2 (either alone or as secondary listening source). It's been a long time, I cannot remember if this was implemented in ASv6 or not, but I don't think so, so this might explain the difference.
