February 12, 200422 yr Thanks Golfcart22 for the heads up. Have you and the rest of the Flight Sim community noticed that there are not many if any up-dates issued to correct problems in FS2004? Maybe ATI is trying to tell us that Microsoft should be the ones sending us updates, like one to get rid of video shimering. (trees and towers and airport signs just to name a few)Terry
February 12, 200422 yr Just completed a half hour test flight with them...work great! It just might be my imagination, but each new set of these drivers seems to improve upon the images. These seem to have better shadow contrast and improved, but subtle, changes in the colors. The 4.1 seemed brighter and crisper than their previous and this version seems even better. I don't measure FPS anymore but this set are certainly as good or better than the 4.1's. I lock at 21 FPS and the sim pretty much stayed at 20.8 throughout my takeoff, approach, and landing; solid at 20.8 over the snowy mountains. I usually use real world wx but since the vis was a tad low today, I used the "Fair Wx" selection and there was no degradation in FPS going through the clouds. Cloud shadowing was excellant. (Flown in modified default Baron).I will definitely keep these!L. (trees and towers and airport signs just to>name a few)That is a problem that's been around in 3d graphics for ages - it's not specific to FS. I see that in BF1942, UT2003 etc as well... It's just something gamers have to live with until they find a way to better smooth and filter the edges of small polygons and sprite based objects. Try using the Omega drivers though, they work great for me. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
