BSOD (Page_Fault_in_non_paged_area) after new motherboard install

Recommended Posts

The computer will still boot fine after this error, but what is it? Also right before it says hard drive undetected or something along those lines (and then proceeds to ignore that message and continue with no issues). I'll attach the dmp file. ~Also I should note I was about to overclock, until I saw this message. I dont want to proceed with that until I know how to fix this issue

That bluescreen could be a number of hardware or software issues. What's the memory set at? Timings? Voltage? It's going to take some trouble shooting, but it's probably overclock related if you are indeed overclocked. As for the hard drive detection, are you using the Marvell controller? It can be disabled in BIOS as it has caused some issues (double boots, yours) on the P67.

I just installed a new mobo. Every has been rolled back to stock (im assuming thats the case with a new mobo) Also there where no issues with the memory on my last board. I have not checked the marvell controller setting yet.

Never assume. Enter BIOS and check. Also, the last board was different from this Asus.Again, that error code could mean a lot of different things. From software, hardware, to a corrupt HDD.

Sounds like a memory error. Are you sure your ram is fine?

Alright there is two options for the marvell controller: storage Oprom and just the controller which do I disable?

Okay, good.Scratch that. Run chkdsk from your defrag tool. Check and fix errors. After that, bump the CPU voltage up .05v from stock.I'm not great at helping with troubleshooting via forums, so I apologize.

ok thanks guys for your help. disabled the marvell controller, the pc seems to still boot quite a bit slower than before, but other than that it works fine. I followed a overclock guide for my board and it has proven stable at 4.3Ghz. just played BF3 for awhile and no issues.
