A question about runway lights in XP10

Featured Replies

Howdy Folks! Is there a way to make the runway and taxiway lights a little brighter in XP10? I find them to be too dim. Also, Is there a way of making the "rabbit" approach lights brighter and more fluid? What I mean by fluid is to avoid or eliminate the "tac tac tac" effect and have a solid "rabbit flash" that could be seen from a distance like in real life. Same question for the localizer lights. Usually these don't start flashing correctly until you're on top of them.On another note - has anyone yet experienced the radiation fog effect in XP10??? It's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks!Dennis D. Mullert

Sincerely,

Dennis D. Müllert

Radiation fog effect? You probably mean the Northern Lights. hehehe

Hey Mike!Jajajajj! Not really. I actually turned off the Northern Lights effect as I was getting as far south as Houston - not very accurate. Actually I went on the internet and looked for an airport currentoy experiencing fog to test a flight or two. I found Riverton, Wy and fired it up in XP10. Sure enough - fog. Now, radiation fog is the thin layer of fog that sits on the ground or very close to the ground and impedes a pilot's ability to sometimes see the runway but once you're up in the air 20 feet or more you break out of it - by the same token - it makes it hell to land sometimes. I was pleasantly urprised to see this effect well rendered in XP10. Themore I test the weather engine in this thing the more impressed I am.Dennis

Thanks for the explanation Dennis, I didn't know it was called radiation fog. I totally agree that the XPX weather engine is amazing.
