Getting hicups while looking around the VC

Featured Replies

Hi lowBeen away from the Sim for a month or so now, and just noticed that while panning around the cockpit i get like 1-2 second long hicups here and there.Anyone else getting this or have suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanx

Jason, system specs will help us help you. Are you using Bojote's tweaker? What graphical settings? Are they small stutters when panning the view or is the sim "freezing"?A 1-2 second long hiccup is a pretty extreme issue. Are you using Nvidia Inspector or any similar program?

Windows 7 ultimate 64MSI p55-gd80I5 760 @4ghzKingston 8gb DDR3 1600Antec 850wFSX HDD WD Velociraptor 300gbWhile panning i get 1-2 seconds of what seems to be a freeze (perhaps its not that extreme say 1/2 second), seems to happen mostly if i spend to much time zoomed into the CDU/FMC, and then pan around or look up ect..I had bojotes tweaked INI installed, tried deleting that and letting it rebuild, tried just Running FSX without ASE or Shade, with and without FPS limiter, i have REX clouds and runways.I am using the Nvidia inspector to handle AA and graphics settings. The only common denominator is the 737ngx, doesnt happen with any other aircraft.Thank you

What are your AA settings in Nvidia Inspector, Jason? I'm going to try and rule out a few possibilities here.
Well i had the recomended settings for 8s combined listed on the general PMDG forums as a sticky.I just Reverted NVinspector to nvidia defaults for the MS FSX profile tested in FSX Freezing/stutters gone, im thinking its an issue with the Nvidia Beta Drivers i had installed, i am reverting back to the WHQL 285.62 for my gtx 570.Think im ok from here on out, pretty sure it was just my NVinspector settings/beta drivers, ill come back to confirm. Thanks Zach

I suspected that. Instead try any "xQ" AA setting with 8xSuperSampling or a lower sparse grid transparency setting. (Sparse Grid looks so nice)To Ryan, if you're reading. I'm thinking that 8xS post should be edited. It can cause a lot of issues for some. Maybe a disclaimer that that setting may produce some very bad issues.BTW, what GPU are you using?
