Hi All,I've used TP in the 'old days' when it was version 5 or something like that, but TP wasn't the thing for me then due to performance issues. I used FS Earth Tiles lately but it had the drawback of creating the coastlines via Google Earth, a very painstaking job :(So, I am now using TP8 which has increased dramatically in performance and with my 120mbit internet connection it works great :Applause:I have however some questions regarding TP so if any of you can answer them I'm a happy camper :im Not Worthy:1. Will TP with FSX benefit from hyperthreading ON versus Hyperthreading OFF? I have an i7/920 which I can run at 4,4GHz with HT OFF. That'll give me plenty of CPU power to get FSX (with AS2012, with VoxATC, with TP, with airport enhancements) running ok, but...the cores are maxed out. I read that it might(?) be an option to run with Hyperthreading ON, but then I can get my CPU no higher then 2,7 maybe 3Ghz (due to extra heat from the extra (virtual) cores). What tends to be the 'best' choice in this? HT ON at a lower CPU speed or HT OFF with a higher CPU speed?2. Is it possible to run TP on a different PC and, by using shares or something like that, make the PC running FSX use the tiles? I'm thinking about joining 2 heave duty PC's in a gigabit LAN, have them share the 120mbit internet connection and use the FSX PC for FSX and the other PC for TP related workload.3. Will TP notice (in performance) if I use 1 24" TFT monitor (1920x1200x32) or use 3 (lower res...like 1024x768x32) beamers?4. Is there a way to manipulate the *.CFG file in such a way that I get max 1mtr resolution below FL050 and downscale the resolution to 2.3 between FL050 and FL100 and 5mtr resolution when above FL100? In normal English: I want a more detailed image from TP the lower I get. Is this possible? Thanks for your time.RegardsEric

I saw nobody offered some help on this, so I figured I would give it a go...1. Not sure about hyperthreading. I'm not a huge techie guy, but I have also have a i7 920 and just use the default settings. Works good.2. Sorry once again not sure.3. I don't think your monitors will cause an effect unless it's drawing more power out of the machine. I run three 23" monitors without a problem, but I also run FSX windowed on one and use the others for charts and things.4. This one I know, unfortunately no. I found a good setting if you're going high is just limit the resolution to 1m everywhere and it works out well.

1. HyperThreading is even counterproductive for FSX; I have a 2600k @ 4.4 GHz and I get stuttering and lower framerates with HT on (temperature never exceeded 60°C, so it can't be CPU throttling). That's because FSX wasn't programmed for HT.

2. Interesting question, but I don't have the answer.

3. It all depends on graphics card horsepower and, specifically, amount of video memory. For instance, I've never monitored more than 500 MB of video memory with TileProxy (and I have almost everything maxed out at 1600x900, 8xS AA, 16x AF + ENB Series + REX + textures at 4096 pixels of resolution). If you have 1 GB or more of dedicated v-memory, no worries with the 1920x1200x32 resolution. Perhaps you need more video memory with the three-monitor setup.

4. As point #2.
