VFR Problem

Featured Replies

All,I recently purchased the boxed version of VoxATC v.6, and on my maiden flight, have run into a frustrating problem I was hoping someone could help me with.Using FSX's default flight planner, I set up a short VFR flight from Tampa's Peter O Knight (KTPF) to Orlando Executive (KORL).Shortly after taking off, I announce I'm leaving the vicinity of Knight and (per VoxATC's instruction) tune Tampa approach on 118.15 in order to request flight following (screenshot 1).Upon making contact with Tampa approach, I announce my position and altitude (screenshot 2). ATC gives me the current altimeter reading, and then says "unable at this time" (presumably to my traffic advisory request); I do not receive a squawk code as I was expecting.Still I continue on to see what will happen, and up until the time I'm about 20 miles from KORL, only receive two traffic call outs and nothing more. When I get to about 20 miles from KORL, I'm told by Tampa approach to contact Jacksonville center on 133.32. I acknowledge the hand off and tune to 133.32 (screenshot 3), but from this point out, until the time I land (screenshot 4), VoxATC's dialogue box tells me to tune to 118.15 (even though I was handed off to Jacksonville approach). At no time was I ever asked to contact Orlando approach, Executive's tower or anything else. After attempting this particular flight several times (always with the same results), I attempted another VFR flight (this time from Knight - KTPF to Kissimmee Gateway - KISM), curious to see if I'd have the same results as my KTPF-KORL flight; unfortunately I did. After making contact with Tampa approach to request flight following (this after announcing on Knight's unicom that I was leaving the area, just as I did with my KTPF-KORL flight), I only received a altimeter setting, followed up with an "unable at this time" response. I wasn't given any furter instructions/handoffs/etc. after that, even when I was only several miles from KISM. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially as the deciding factor for me in purchasing VoxATC over its competition was the ability to use it for both VFR and IFR flights. On an unrelated note, is there a way to request an airspace transition shortly after takeoff when the departure airport is within the Class B airspace of another airport so I can climb to my cruising altitude without having to stay below the Bravo's airspace ceiling (and is this something real life pilots have to do before continuing their ascent when flying VFR below Bravo airspace)? Thanks,Jeff

I wish I could comment, however I never tried / fly VFR.so I would never know how Vox behaves at VFR flights

..... ha... ha... ha .... welcome to the real world of VOXATC ........ I encountered so many problems, that I stooped addressing them... I'm just trying to live with what is good and walking around with is not so good, ....for me, as a student pilot, that English is not his native language, it helps a lot with building a confidence and having the ability to simulate something that is close to reality ...Best wishes to all for the new yearYair
