January 5, 201214 yr Had to reinstall ASE on a WideFS machine, which is working correctly (RC, FSC etc): The first time it asked for the FS9 path and didnt like the one I gave (It MIGHT have been the wrong path) and now simply says "Cant find the path, will now close" - which is a bit silly: saying "Lets have another go" would be a bit more helpful..Re-sinstalled. Now ASE wont even TRY to find the path: simply says "Cant find, going to close, try again".How do I get around this?

January 7, 201214 yr Come on guys, please; somebody at least throw me a bone .......Is it such a difficult question to answer?I don't think (But I might be wrong) that ASE uses wide FS as a network connection... But there is hope :) It uses native simconnect, which is what I use with it on a networked computer. At the same time I am also using wide fs to get my acars to connect to the sim computer.Have a look at the supplied documents that come with ASE and at the end of the doc you will find network setup directions to configure it for sim connect.Hope it helps.JB Buzz313th
January 7, 201214 yr Author Thank you for taking the time to reply JB:Using FS9 on XP (I´m sorry, I should have said) it does use WideFS, but unfortunately the manual doesnt seem to deal with the problem of giving ACE the wrong path - it presumes (and rightly so) that the user will get it right. My problem is that ASE no longer gives the opportunity to re-find the correct path: it simply says Close ASE and Try Again, which results in another close and another Try Again.Regards.
January 7, 201214 yr Ok lemme try again ;)And I can only speak for ASE and AS2012 on FSX, but burried in the registry are the paths from ASE to FS. I'm on my iPhone so I can't look. But if memory serves me right it's something like, Localuser/software/hifi/ASEAgain I found that info when I needed it for the same reason in the user manual.Hope this helpsSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB Buzz313th

April 28, 201214 yr hey JB. i'm also having the same problem and I'm trying to follow your advice but i can't seem to find the the path from ASE to FS9. could you be more specific on where to find that path? i'm not very good with registry files... thanks in advance I don't have FS9, so I am not at all familiar with the correct registry entries. Best bet is to ask this question in the HIFI forums and someone will get back to ya. Wait, now come to think of it, I believe it's in the manual... Hold on.... Here... http://www.hifisim.com/ASEUserHome/Documentation/ASE.pdf Page 55 But if you don't wanna look at the manual, here is a copy of the relevant section. WARNING: Edit the registry at your own risk. Modifying improper registry keys can result in computer problems. The registry settings that need adding if you are having an issue with ASE locating your server version are: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi\ASE\FS9Path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi\ASE\FS9AppDataPath HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi\ASE\FSXPath HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi\ASE\FSXAppDataPath These paths must point to your server versions i.e. (Examples only, enter your correct paths not the values below). \\VISTA-DESKTOP\Flight Simulator 9\ for the FS9 installation path \\Vista-desktop\fs9\ for the appdata path Buzz313th
