January 7, 201214 yr Hello,I guess I must be missing something because I can't seem to pull it off. This is the situation.I use the dodosim 206 quite often and it is very easy to create a module fot this helo, using Linda. However, inside FSX the 206 has been split up in 4 different configurations.I have made one module for the high_skid version and I want to use that for all variants. And that my friends, that doesn't work for me.Can anyone shed some light on how to duplicate the original file?ThanksLuc BrusselmansBelgium.and before I forget. LINDA is as big a contribution to our community as fsuipc and widefs.Great tool.
January 8, 201214 yr Hi Luc,thanks for your kind words...Have you tried to click on Edit (upper left) when the Dodosim module is selected. There you can name the module and rename it maybe from DodoSim_206_FSX_HighSkid just to DodoSim_206...then it should fit for all. January 8, 201214 yr Author Hello Guenter,(I hope I have this right because your name is incredible small)I am a bit confused. When I select the Dodosim module in the pulldown menu and I click the edit button, a new window opens. In there, I find at the top the module name (DodoSim_206) and below that the aircraft search string. For the dodosim ( in my case) it refers to the dodosim_206_fsx_highskid.Since the module names are meant to be unique and only refer to one aircraft search string it's probably impossible to make one module control more than one 'aircraft'.At least when those aircraft are situated in different folders and as such use different cfg.filesHere's what I do. (or try to anyway)In the main window I choose my aircraft (in this case DodoSim_206).When choosing 'EDIT' I find myself in the 'EDIT AIRCRAFT MODULE' window.Module name = Dodo_sim 206Aircraft search string = DodoSim_206_FSX_Highskid. (The link between module and searchstring seems to be unique tooI have created a module to my liking and now I want it to use it not only for the Highslid version of the Bell 206 but also for the lowskid, utility, and floatversion.Choosing 'NEW' forces me to create a new module (with a unique name). No problem there but choosing the radiobutton 'Copy from existing' (I assume that it is meant to copy an existing module to the newly created one) doesn't work. The new module remains empty. (no assignments are copied). So I guess I must be doing wrong but I can't figure out what. Two suggestions for LINDA come to mind here.- making it possible to assign more than one aircraft search string- a print option so one can print out the programmed functions/buttonsthanks for taking the time to help me out hereLuc BrusselmansBelgium
January 8, 201214 yr Hi Luc, When choosing 'EDIT' I find myself in the 'EDIT AIRCRAFT MODULE' window.Module name = Dodo_sim 206Enter into the aircraft search string just "Dodo". (or DodoSim_206)Then there should come up all 4 versions of the Dodo!(?)Then give a module name as you like ... and saveDo not choose on the 4 aircraft versions! January 9, 201214 yr Author Guenter,It was that simple....That simple but I wouldn't have thought about it to try it that way. Thanks for helping me out.And another big thank you for a simple but effective way to assign functions to buttons.I have never seen a more easy way (In FS) to assign functions to my Thrustmaster Wharthog combination. Now I can start creating a few other modules to accomodate the 698 aircraft in my Fsx directory.Luc BrusselmansBelgium
