Hi Vilk:haven't seen it but if it's based on Shuttle Radar (SRTM) data it'll be "oversampled" by a factor of three because the source data have a 3-arcsec resolution (90m). A little while ago there was a LOD10 mesh at flightsim of the UK (which contained that strange boycott call against AVSIM) but I don't know if this is the same group of authors. I don't think there's any free high-quality data of Switzerland available - sure wish there was ;-)The Shuttle Radar meshes are fine for most parts but the really prominent mountains are missing or distorted (radar signal gets absorbed or deflected by snow & ice and can't reach the steep revines or cliffs).Cheers, Holger

wow, holger himself!:)yeah, i was suspecting some trickery, too... i know the srtm story, thanks. there must be hi-res data for switzerland somewhere, but they probably cost a mint (as in "swiss-chocolate-covered mint" :-lol). i think i've seen some $100+ swiss scenery recently claiming 20-metre resolution. i hoped this one might be some kind of a spin-off.thank you, anyway. i really like your work. thanks for that, too!:)vilk

Hi Vilk:thanks for the kind words! That payware Switzerland product, expensive as it is, does come with high-res photoreal textures (its main feature). I've seen a couple of screenshots and they look pretty amazing: http://www.flightforum.ch/newforum/showthr...?threadid=20597Re-reading my post above, I don't want to come across as dismissing a mesh I haven't seen myself. If you do find it, perhaps you could let us know how it looks. The "true test" would be checking the Matterhorn and MtBlanc, both of which are big black holes in the raw Shuttle Radar data. Thanks.Holger

i could wait "une semaine" no problem, but it says, "l'archive fait environ 820ko". no way they squeezed 30-metre switzerland into 820ko.:)the mystery continues...

i got justin's 19-metre matterhorn.sweet beyond words...no way they could beat that.;)i'll let you know if i find this mesh.

Hey VilkI sometimes use fsplanet to find file and author names and then download from a legit site. No point downloading from fsplanet as you'll probably just get one of Ferdsie's lunatic rants about AVSIM. (Yes they can be amusing but they don't install to FS9 LOL).David

yeah. that's why i went there, too. to sniff around. shame on me. :)
