January 22, 201214 yr Good card!Ok.. the vsync is a pain, but it can be controlled to a good degree, maybe even fixed. I;ve been using the new beta drivers which were recently released for the 500 series, and they seem to have given a small percentage increase in fps in the sim, so you might try those to start with (if you haven't already!),http://www.geforce.c...s/Results/40607 (Win 7-64)and then similarly - there's an improved version of nVidia Inspector out - which allows you to get rid of that somewhat flaky FPS_Limiter02 program, as Inspector now includes it's own internal limiter:-http://downloads.gur...nload-2612.htmlHere's what it looks like on my TripleHead2Go: Note three screens, and the setting is 30 - not 90.http://dl.dropbox.co...spector1959.jpg Thanks for your help! And yes FlyTampa Hong Kong in FS2004 came alive with the night lights and less flickering with that card! I sometimes get lower framerates than my old 8800GTS (376MB) but I am still running FS2004 on my WinXP 32 bit system, a Core2Duo Dual Core but very able as you would probably know.Going from 376MB to 1GB on XP with FS9 won't reduce system memory available, will it? I know this is the FSX forum I hope this question is ok!!!So, I currently run the standard drivers from Nvidia, no Nhancer or anything extra. What procedure should I use to install all this new software? I have read about people using this software in the tweak guides, but I personally want to tweak FSX as little as possible, if you know my meaning. I have set my Frames at 37. For 3 screens wouldn't you need 3 separate cards?ThanksDaniel Edited January 22, 201214 yr by IAF747
January 22, 201214 yr Download and install the gpu - nVidia suggests an installation directly over the previous driver (which works), reboot, and then repeat with nVidia Inspector. You can use my screenshot setting as a start for Inspector, but both Nick Neeham and Ryan Maziarz of PMDG have "how-to's" on their respective sites:Ryan:-http://forum.avsim.n...f-all-settings/ - (Ryan has the latest version, and very good instructions.)andNick:-http://www.simforums...topic29041.htmlYour initial "tweaks" should only be those recommendations for Inspector, plus this in the fsx.cfg.[GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1There are a few other improvements, but see how she goes for a few days before trying anything else - ok?
