February 25, 200422 yr I've been experiencing the same problem as described onsome earlier posts where the screen goes black and thehourglass goes into a frenzy while switching screen modes.Yesterday I upgraded to 56.55 Nvidia drivers and since thenI have had no problem switching from Full screen to desktop using the Alt or Windows key. However the problem stillpersists when switching from Full screen to window mode,to for example start sqkbox using fshost.dll. Once sqkboxhas connected to VATSIM and I then press Alt+Enter to returnto full screen mode, the black screen returns, etc. Thisalso happens while resizing a window.Pete Dowson mentions in the FSUIPC manual that this is aknown issue apparently caused by DirectX9 bug.If anyone knows a work-around to solve this problem, pleaselet me know. At present I just cannot seem to be able to fly online with FS9. The funny thing is that this doesn'thappen with FS2002.Thanks
February 25, 200422 yr Hi Kim.My work around for this problem it use the windows key to reduce the screen to the desk top and then click on the minimised icon at the bottom of the screen to return back in to flight simulator. I dont use alt/return as it locks up with the black screen syndrome.Using the above allows me to fly on line without hindrance.Hope this helpsDave.
February 25, 200422 yr Hi I had this problem when I first installed FS9. Back in the FS2K2 days, I would save a flight and exit in full screen mode. With FS9, if I do this same procedure when I start FS9 in full screen mode everything was OK, but when I went into windowed mode, I would get the black screen and the flickering mouse arrow. My workaround to this problme is save and exit FS9 in windowed mode. When I start I am of course in windowed and then I switch to full screen mode. With this procedure, I have never get the flickering mouse arrow and switch back to windowed mode to check my weather sometimes.Hope this helps you out.Bob
February 25, 200422 yr I have the same problem and I'm running an ATI 9800 pro. I can kinda work around it too. Start in windowed mode, get everything running and then switch to full mode.RegardsScott
February 25, 200422 yr My solution is to use Ctrl+Alt+Delete when in full screen, this gets you back to the desktop. To restore back to full screen just click on the taskbar.John
February 26, 200422 yr Thanks for all the replies.I tried all suggestions and the one that worked bestand easiest for me was the one about saving a exitingFS9 in window mode. While on the subject I also happenedto read another work around in another thread. To tick-on/offthe antialias box in FS9, that also worked.Cheers
