MSVCR90.dll CTD

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,I have gotten two CTD's while using the PMDG NGX that pointed to the module in the topic. I thought I'd ping the forum and see if anyone else has had this issue. I was sitting at the gate programming the FMC when it ocurred. I had just started FSPassengerX and was plugging in my TOW when the crash happened. I've been fortunate to not have CTD's, but now I've had two in the last week, so I thought I'd start looking into it.Thanks,Don

Don,For starters make sure your MSVC and.NET Runtimes are up to date via Windows Update.Cheers,- jahman.

Jahman is absolutely correct. I found a couple of other instances of this crash over at the PMDG forum - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/346964-pmdg-737ngx-crash-msvcr90dll-windows-7-x64/. I don't know whether you were programming the PMDG 737 but missing MSVC's are a great possibility as the dll that caused your crash is part of the MSVC's packages. I think a lot of people have been uninstalling one or more of these MSVC's and that's not good. You need MSVC's C++ Redistributables from 2005 to 2010 and they are not backward compatible. If you are missing any of the packages and Windows update did not install them, you'll need to do a Google search to get the packages installed.Best regards,Jim

Ahhh...that makes sense now. A few days ago I woke my computer up out of sleep mode and there was a dialogue box open that said something about a C++ runtime error. I think my options in the box were to "try again" or "close" and I think I closed.....doh! :( In fact, I've seen that a few times after being asleep and I've had this issue before so I think I'm seeing the link. I will re-boot and see if it occurs again. If so, I'll follow the advice in the links you provided. I wonder why I get these errors during sleep? Thanks for looking into this. I did a search on this .dll issue but I think I only searched the CTD forum, not all forums or I may have found this without bothering you. I appreciate the replies, though!--Don
