New 290 Drivers

Featured Replies

I tested new nvidia 290 drivers. Both with limiter (NI) and bp=0 and without, I had much more stuttering.Fps are same, but the smoothness is gone.Just a hu.(null)

I have BP=0, Reject Threshold and the Inspector FPS limiter and its all smooth, just trying to figure out this FXAA.

I tested against my "stutter-test-file" - it's a situation with a default Boeing 737 parked at KSEA with the view over the right wing, towards the airport. Take off. Here I measure side-pass stutters. I notice way more stutter with 290 than 285.62. Also 285.62 stutter a bit, especially in the middle of the airport, but 290s, even start stuttering at the beginning, getting heavier as I get to the middle. This is not a placebo here.I returned back to 285.62, and behold, everything as it was = better. But Andrew, if you have BP=0 and RT, then something is wrong with your config.

The RejectThreshold parameter doesn't have any effect if Bufferpools are disabled.

Exactly.

Whoops! :LMAO: Seems I may have to fix a bit. I am fiddling around with a lot at the moment to try and incorporate nVidia FXAA and when I put BP=0 in I think it had come from the online tweaker which put in RT. Thanks for the heads up guys.

It's funny. I'd totally like to experiment with new drivers but the stuttering is killing me. I reinstalled it completely clean, in safe mode with driver cleaner and all. But still. Every time I roll back to old drivers, stuttering is gone.
