Tileproxy, help needed please.

Featured Replies

Hi All, New here so please go easy on me. I've done a lot of searching around on this but can't get the info I need. It seems there is very little activity with this project now. Any way here goes, I have managed to get TP installed in my Windows 7 x64 system ok. I believe I've got over the driver signing issues and TP appears to be running and loading the tiles. However when I run FSX all I get is the stock simulated MS scenery. I followed the excellent tutorial by Ed Truthan to get it installed but it just doesn't seem to work. Am I posibly missing some critical config changes or something else? Many thanks for any infoBob.

Hi,Is Tile Proxy added to your scenery library and is it in the top slots?

The installation automatically adds the tileproxy entries to the scenery library. The first mistake most people make is that the config file is a dummy and needs to be altered to activate whichever service you are going to use.Google does not work, so you need to normally use either bing maps or yahoo maps.IAN

But he did say that the tiles are being downloaded, just not showing up in FS.

Thanks for the responses so far, I did modify the config file for TP to use Bing Maps and the do appear in the scenery list in FSX starting at line 1.For some reason they just don't appear when flying. Is the driver signing issue likely to affect this, I have booted via the "F8 disable driver signing" option and started TP by "running as administrator" this is the only way I can get TP to run at all.

If it helps at all the "Number of tiles accessed" indicator in the TP shell window stays at 0 during a flight. I assume that means FSX is not accessing the TP data at all.???

Ok topic is now closed as I've re-installed XP Pro x64 and TP is now working faultlessly, Cheers.
