  1. Many thanks for your help everyone, I'll give it a go!
  2. I'm currently trying to practice instrument approaches with FSX. If I stuff up an approach I would idealy like to just reset the aircraft to an earlier position on the approach rather than have to start the entire flight again. Is this possible, if so how do I do it.
  3. I guess this might well have been asked before so forgive me as I coudn't find the answer via the search.I'm using the Carenado Cherokee for instrument training as this is the closest match to my own aircraft. However whilst it is great for VOR intercepts and tracking etc, the lack of realism in turns is proving to be too much when trying to execute a proceedural approach. The main problem is the ridiculous rate of descent that occurs in a rate one turn. Is it possible to modify anything to improve this and make it more life-like.?Many thanks for any advice.
  4. Ok topic is now closed as I've re-installed XP Pro x64 and TP is now working faultlessly, Cheers.
  5. Having managed to get my FSX system working with Tileproxy I've downlaoded the Terrain Meshes for europe as suggested in the "How to" section of the manual, Forgive the seemingly dumb question but where do I put the files?
  6. In general you may well be right, but when it flatly refuses to allow running software which hasn't passed their expensive certification requirements it becomes severely restrictive. I'm very well aware of the the "dangers" of running software which is not "approved" by MS and understand it may well mess up my system, but I should at least have the choice. In this instance It would seem that MS have put in place a method of disabling driver signing that just doesn't work. Frankly that is not superior by any stretch of the immagination.
  7. I've done a lot of digging around on this and it would appear that inspite of using the F8 start option to disable driver signing, Windows 7 x64 will not load the Tileproxy driver. I checked my error log file and even after using the F8 option, every instance of booting up the system showed the driver not loaded. I have one further option to try, that is signing the TP driver myself, if I can get my head round the proceedure that is. If that fails I'm afraid Win 7 gets the boot and XP Pro x64 goes back on my PC. Why did I even think about "upgrading" to 7?
  8. Kasug,I have the same problem too. Since you have a friend with TP working properly why not compare your config files with his. If you find any differences which might account for the problem please post results here.
  9. If it helps at all the "Number of tiles accessed" indicator in the TP shell window stays at 0 during a flight. I assume that means FSX is not accessing the TP data at all.???
  10. Thanks for the responses so far, I did modify the config file for TP to use Bing Maps and the do appear in the scenery list in FSX starting at line 1.For some reason they just don't appear when flying. Is the driver signing issue likely to affect this, I have booted via the "F8 disable driver signing" option and started TP by "running as administrator" this is the only way I can get TP to run at all.
  11. Hi All, New here so please go easy on me. I've done a lot of searching around on this but can't get the info I need. It seems there is very little activity with this project now. Any way here goes, I have managed to get TP installed in my Windows 7 x64 system ok. I believe I've got over the driver signing issues and TP appears to be running and loading the tiles. However when I run FSX all I get is the stock simulated MS scenery. I followed the excellent tutorial by Ed Truthan to get it installed but it just doesn't seem to work. Am I posibly missing some critical config changes or something else? Many thanks for any infoBob.
