January 29, 201214 yr I have been pleased as punch with this rig. I just cannot hurt it. The only thing I feel I am "missing" is a pair of 7990s but I am convinced my wife will divorce me if I do that. My board and CPU are PCIe 3.0 compliant (I think). Well then i would also likely need a nuclear power plant to run them... Maybe I can sell the unlocked 6950s... Become a nuclear power... Sell my soul for a pair of 7990s... Nah...Anyway I have about 16GB of RAM just sitting there "looking" pretty while FSX is running from what my performance manager tells me and I was wondering what benefit I might derive from making it a RAM Disk and installing an FSX component on it. Will anything benefit from this? Could I install my aircraft on another "drive" separate from FSX?I am not in anyway technically competent enough to figure this out so I would love to hear from the pros on this stuff. January 29, 201214 yr You might consider a utility like CacheSet to use some of that RAM to set up a whopping big disk cache.Unfortunately, 16GB isn't enough to do much good with a RAM drive.
