January 29, 201214 yr I created a IFR flight plan and proceed with my route and line up with the runway and land. But the ATC never hand me to the baltimore tower and i do not have the permission to land. I stayed on the approach which never handed me be the tower. Ofc i sucessfully landed but they keep saying "please go to 4000 feet". usually that the only way for them to hand me to the airport tower is if i lined up with the runway like 30 miles away. But that is unrealistic because i want the shortest route possible. Am i suppose to use the radioshack and tone in on the tower? Because i tried manually toning it to ATC and it didn't work. (which is stupid to give the radio freq on the map). Thanks Edited January 29, 201214 yr by improsniper
January 29, 201214 yr Assuming ATC is SUPPOSED to hand you off there (in MSFS) it sounds like you didn't execute the most recent ATC instruction, to the letter. Be sure to check your barometer as Flight sim's ATC won't issue another command unless you reach the last altitude and/or speed instruction given, before it will issue another instruction or the next handoff. IOW, it's just waiting for you. Edited January 29, 201214 yr by Chuck_B Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. Just not their heading. Because ATC in FS sucks and doesn't follow my flight plan.
January 29, 201214 yr I always stays on my the attitude they gave. Just not their heading. The ATC guy doesn't like it when you don't follow his heading :( They are extremely picky. In other words, do as they say unless you want to fly straight over the runway Sam Nicholson - UK Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
January 29, 201214 yr That's exactly right... You answered your own question. How do you expect MSFS (a dumb computer) to "move on" if you're not crossing the waypoints the computer expected you to?? Load your flight plan into FS according to instruction (Google on it off you have to) and all should be well. If you're not happy with the default ATC, I highly recommend Pro Flight Emulator or Radar Contact. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B.
