I am considering replacing my current yoke, a regular CH Products USB yoke) since it now tends to stick, especially when operated single-handed during landing (the other hand is on the throttle). Can someone who has the newer Eclipse yoke tell how it performs when operated with only one hand? I am also interested in how the Saitek yoke fares but as far as I have found it is not much beter in this regard.I have tried to lubricate my current yoke (silicon spray) and even replaced the springs with rubber bands. However, I find that the real cause of the stickiness is because with only one hand, the shaft is pulled a little sideways.I have done some research on replacement yokes. PFC yokes sound great, but the Saab yoke is over 1000 euros (including shipping to Europe which is almost as expensive as the yoke itself).Allard.

I'm going to get the saab pfc, shipping to me is also way expensive (postage $1450 for thr column yoke!!), but ask them for a usps quote, quite a bit more reasonable. I've got some silicon liquid sitting on my desk ready for the saitek in he mean time, might have to try the dupont though.

Hi Jahman,Unfortunately Amazon won't ship it to Europe and I can't find a local supplier in the Netherlands. For a similar product, what should I look for specifically? Until now I have been using a product called "Silisol" which is a "universal silicon oil". Should I look for something with teflon instead?

Rob, if you are planing to order PFC:I'm right now in the process of finding the right deal, and I found two stores, which were both confirmed by PFC as reliable and known stores:http://www.flightsimulatorcenter.com/http://www.dutifristore.com/I'm gonna order from one of these two stores soon. Delivery to Austria is normal, something like 50-80€. Probably more for column yoke, but still way less than from USA.And don't forget, for importing you gotta pay heavy taxes.I found out that ordering from USA is a complete no-go.Btw. buying a Saab Cirrus yoke.

Try here and here.Cheers,- jahman.

Man, you are seriuosly crazy about that Dupont thing

Hi Jahman and Word Not Allowed, thank you guys for the links. The Saab yoke is out of my league for the moment but it is nice to know there is a supplier in Europe. I'll try that Dupont thingie first.regards,Allard.

You would think that in this day and age everything can be available anywhere. That's until you decide to buy a tiny can of Dupont's famous Teflon Silicon Lubricant. :sad:Than it becomes painfully obvious that there's a great big splash of water between Europe and the USA and somehow it is either impossible or very expensive to move things accross that big oversized lake.Solving my sticking yoke problems with a can of lubricant that's only 6 USD seams a great deal. That's until the shipping costs become clear. It'll cost me ten times as much to have the stuff shipped. I might as well buy a new yoke but I'll probably need some lubricant for that anyway :Thinking:I'll probably go for it since I want to get rid of the stickiness, but just had to blow off steam.

See if you can opt for cheaper delivery methods (regular air mail should run you at under $20).The reason shipping is expensive although the product itself is cheap is airfreight goes by weight and distance, and the can is rather heavy and NL is rather far away :Big Grin:Cheers,- jahman.

Thx Word Not Allowed, will check links.Am planning on the cirrus saab desktop yoke. Quoted postage is crazy, but ive contacted them and they can ship via usps for a cheaper price, around 275$ us.

But still, $600+$275+ 20% tax on the whole price (at least in Austria I gotta pay 20% import tax, can't believe it's different in NL).Cheaper to buy at one of the two stores. For instance in Spain, 655€ + 80€ for sending and packaging. I think that's very much fair price. And less than above. This makes me want to buy a column yoke:

After another flight with a sticky yoke I decided enough is enough and ordered the Dupont stuff. Although I found a similar product in the Netherlands (http://www.toolnation.nl/levico-teflon-spray-spuitbus-500-ml.html) I decided that the Dupont stuff is a "proven" solution. I'll report back though. Unfortunately, delivery will take two weeks so I need to wait a bit.Thank you all for the advice. If the Dupont stuff works I might be able to get some years out of my current yoke. If not, then it is either the Eclipse or the Saab yoke.Cheers,Allard.
