Alright, looking forward to your report
Word Not Allowed, you know you'll just have to buy a can of the stuff! :LMAO:Cheers,- jahman.

Jahman,Probably not. In two weeks +/- I hope to be a happy owner of a PFC Saab Desktop Yoke.

Rob, if you are planing to order PFC:I'm right now in the process of finding the right deal, and I found two stores, which were both confirmed by PFC as reliable and known stores:http://www.flightsimulatorcenter.com/http://www.dutifristore.com/I'm gonna order from one of these two stores soon. Delivery to Austria is normal, something like 50-mega_shok.gif€. Probably more for column yoke, but still way less than from USA.And don't forget, for importing you gotta pay heavy taxes.I found out that ordering from USA is a complete no-go.Btw. buying a Saab Cirrus yoke.
I'm Australia, not Austria The one with the kangaroos :)I think US will be cheaper for me, but am still checking the postage for the sites you mentioned, so thx for the links. In general, shipping pdc yokes to here (remote part of oz) is VERY expensive, but no import taxes if I keep it under $1000.I'm also planning on the Saab. Will see who gets one first!

Oh sorry, I must have missed that. It's funny though how people constantly mix those two. Both ways!I believe there was something in Australia too, I found one shop as I was searching.Yeah, let's see! :-)

Amazon has cancelled my order of the Dupont lubricant. They can't ship it overseas after all. What's more, the other two suppliers that Jahman posted are also unable to do so.With this magical Dupont stuff out of my reach, I'll have to try the alternative.Cheers,Allard

How about Jahman orders for you, ships you and you paypal him the money ;-)

I have already ordered the alternative I found. It has the same basic ingredients (Silicon oil with teflon additive) and is explicitly sold as a non-sticking lubricant. If it doesn't work I can indeed do as you suggest and ask Jahman to help out. Off course it is entirely possible that by then I am fed up with it all and ready for the PFC yoke althoug those are also not without problems (see Mike_CFII in http://forum.avsim.net/topic/278463-precision-flight-controls/page__p__1766467__hl__pfc__fromsearch__1#entry1766467).

I remember this. He had some trouble with it, but in the end solved it.I have this possibly very stupid habit: I do everything in writing. And if they don't reply, I write an angry email ;-) That always works. Even with Saitek, LOL.Keep us posted on that lubricant.

I've got the lubricant (Levico Teflon spray, silicon based). Couldn't wait to try it out and started by carefully cleaning the yoke shaft. After the shaft was clean, I sprayed the stuff on and flew a few circuits. The yoke seems smoother when held with both hands, but that wasn't the problem. However, with only one hand the problem is not solved. It seems that when I am pulling/pushing the yoke with one hand, the shaft is askew in the housing (I hope you understand what I mean with "askew", it seems the right word for it). It may only be a single degree, but it is enough for the shaft to brace itself against the rings where it enters the yoke housing. I am doubtfull whether any lubricant will solve it since it would probably just be squeezed out at the point where it is most needed. So that's it I'm afraid. I could ask Jahman so send me the Dupont stuff but I am doubtfull it'll fix this problem and it would cost me a third the price of a new Eclipse yoke. Unfortunately I didn't get an answer to my question on how that yoke behaves when operated with one hand. So I have to do some research of my own or talk myself into spending money on a PFC yoke.Cheers,Allard.

Allard, you have just described exactly what was happening with my yoke too. That "askew" thing was exactly my problem. Flying with one hand and using and elevator (eg. landing) with Saitek was for me impossible.I even ended up removing springs completely to remove any tension pulling-pushing the yoke when using one hand, but still the problem was there.I contemplated very very long if to order PFC and time has finally come. I wrote with several people, reviewed many sites, wrote with PFC, wrote with companies here in Europe - I'm now 100% sure this is the right decision.

Unfortunately I didn't get an answer to my question on how that yoke behaves when operated with one hand.
See here.Cheers,- jahman.

Hi Word Not Allowed,Thanks for your reply. It helps a lot to know I am not the only one who had experienced this.I was able to improve on the situation a bit to mix the new lubricant I got with the one I used before. I still want to replace my yoke but at least it is usable for now. I am very interested in your experiences with the PFC yoke so could you please let us know how it is?Regards,Allard.

Sure. Gonna be a little while more till I order it.

Hi,WRT to the lubricant, CH doesn't recommend any. Eventually they all seem to soften the plastic. On the up side, the Eclipse uses different materials for the shaft and shaft bushings and the "sticktion" at center elevator is essentialy gone without lubrication. With the hat on the left now, one-handed operation isn't usually any problem.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com

Thanks Bob for your reply. After not using the yoke for quite some time I noticed that the yoke wasn't as smooth as I remembered. Lubrication seemed to help at the time. However, the specific stickiness that occurs when used with only one hand wasn't solved and might have become worse. Also, my flying technique might have changed so that have only one hand on the yoke now during landing, which makes the problem more noticable.Regards,Allard.
