ASE Destination Winds (again-sorry!)

Featured Replies

Hi.I'm sorry to bring this topic up again as I know its been bought up many times before., but I know some people are not suffering from this problem any more and I still am!!!I'm still getting incorrect ATIS for my destination hence AI traffic is all not as expected when I arrive. I realise ATIS will never be correct in DWC mode.I'm using ASE with the latest beta build (655) on a networked laptop. FSX sp2 is running on the main PC. I'm using DWC mode. I have the latest version of FSUIPC installed and weather settings are 'off' on FSUIPC. In ASE i've got 'Force Desistination Wx Zone', and 'Force ATC wind Lock' both checked. Is there a definitive list of settings for this problem or is it just trial and error?I can post some logs if required.Any help much appreciated, Martin.

Martin Stacey.

Hi Martin,Sorry that you are having problems.I usually fly sectors up to 2.5 hrs long and have adopted the following method which gets over most problems.I make a note of the arrival weather prior to departure in order to get an indication of conditions at my destination.(As it happens in the RW also).En route within 100 miles of my arrival airport I will tune in the AS Atis .I then re enter AS2012 and refresh AI and when Radar Contact Atis speaks I usually find that the information given falls within the usual parameters..Last evening I flew into EGKK and had noted that in the RW runway 08R was in use. When I received the RC Atis the weather was quoted as VRB/03 runway 08R in use which was in line with real world conditions for that day.I was happy with that.It does appear that many weather problems associated with FSX result from the inaccurate information which is embedded within FSX itself which in turn impacts on the developers who do try and find solutions! It does appear that a little trial and error does overcome some of these problems
