February 5, 201214 yr HiCan any RW Pilot or Engineer tell me what an average fuel arrival figure would be on the B737-800 for a cost conscious airline. I appreciate this depends on Alternates, Weather and ATC, which is why I'm looking for an average figure. Thanks, Glen Glen
February 5, 201214 yr Hi Glen,In the range of 3000-3500kgs will get you close. If you want bare minimum go for 1500kg. She will consume about 500kgs for a 30min at 1500ft and about 1000kgs for a direct FL100 and 100nm altenate airport. Here's a break down:Fuel uplifted = Taxifuel + Trip Fuel + Contingency Fuel + Altenate Fuel + Final Reserve + Additional fuel + Extra Fuelregards, Martin DahlerupMy rig contains a random selection of computer parts working in perfect harmony.... I hold a EASA fATPL + A320 SIC rating and a FAA CPL with CFI rating.

February 9, 201214 yr Will consume around 1100 kgs for a 30 min hold at 1500 you mean...You've still got it!Arrival fuel for the airline I work for would be anywhere between 2.5 tonne and 4.5 tonne; which is a normal figure for a day of good weather and light, to moderate traffic both in the air and on the ground. If I were to pick the most common magical number, it would be around 3 tonne. The company has a target of 2.5 tonne of fuel remaining at the end of the landing roll; leaving you with little, to no breathing space should anything go wrong on approach causing you to go around. (You'd pretty much only have time to go-around, action the checklists, configure for landing; then commit to landing). Eeek!Thankfully, our pilots don't need to write a note to mummy and daddy explaining why they adjusted their fuel load; so 2.5 tonne magically turns into around 2.5 to 3 tonne and some room to move.Ash Frew. February 9, 201214 yr I spoke to a QANTAS pilot who lives across the road from me who flies the NG on domestic in Australia and he says they aim for 2500kg at dest in CAVOK conditions. This is what i plan with. Jeff Blyth MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!
